Deploying the task of developing Son La city towards a type I urban area

This morning, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the development of Son La city towards a type I urban area and green, fast and sustainable development, chaired a meeting to evaluate the results of the first quarter and deploy key tasks for the second quarter of 2025. Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of departments, agencies, members of the Provincial Steering Committee and leaders of the City.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Steering Committee for the development of Son La city in the direction of a type I urban area and green, fast and sustainable development will continue to focus on urging the implementation of the work of reviewing, establishing new, adjusting detailed planning, master planning to increase the coverage rate of the planning; implementing key tasks related to the establishment of Adjusted planning for preservation, renovation, restoration and promotion of the value of the special national relic Son La Prison; implementing local adjustments to the general planning, zoning planning, detailed planning for a number of areas in the city to suit the plan for arranging and handling public assets, implementing social infrastructure; attracting investment and implementing construction investment according to regulations. Reviewing and proposing to perfect the Council for appraising tasks and planning projects under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the functions and tasks of departments, branches and units after the merger. At the same time, continue to review and urge the implementation of investment to complete key technical and social infrastructure related to the completion and improvement of the criteria for type II urban areas, aiming to approach some criteria for type I urban areas under the province. At the time of reporting, 13 projects have been completed, and 16 key projects on technical and social infrastructure are being implemented.

The city's accumulated budget revenue from the beginning of the year to the end of March 2025 is estimated at 165 billion VND, equal to 33.2% of the provincial estimate, an increase of 59.3% over the same period in 2024. Disbursement of public investment capital is over 78 billion 270 million VND, reaching 28.8% of the provincial capital plan. The socio-cultural sector has received attention, promptly implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines for people with meritorious services, policy families, and poor households; speeding up the progress of temporary housing elimination in the area, striving to complete before May 19, 2025.
