Athlete Do Quoc Luat (Army) continued to show stable performance when he won the men's 10 km distance for the 11th consecutive time with a time of 30 minutes and 44 seconds.
The tournament is jointly organized by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, Tien Phong Newspaper and the Vietnam Athletics Federation.
From 4am, professional and amateur athletes began competing for individual prizes in the distances of 21.1km, 42.195km for men and women in the professional and amateur categories; 10km for professional men, young men, amateur men and women; 5km for professional women, young women and amateur men and women. The race route went through the diverse and poetic terrain of Dong Ha city from bridges, dams to prevent saltwater intrusion, railway bridges over Hieu river, to green rice fields, winding slopes, shady forests on the road leading to Khe May lake...
There were no surprises on the track in the men's full marathon (42.195 km) race, with a time of 2 hours 32 minutes 23 seconds, athlete Hoang Nguyen Thanh (Binh Phuoc) finished first. Athlete Nguyen Van Lai (Army) finished second with a time of 2 hours 32 minutes 40 seconds and athlete Mai Quy Phong finished third with a time of 2 hours 32 minutes 59 seconds. Hoang Nguyen Thanh successfully defended his full marathon title, continuing his record of 6 consecutive championships.
First prize was awarded to the Army delegation; Gia Lai province ranked second and Quang Tri ranked third.
In the women's full marathon, athlete Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa (Binh Phuoc) finished first with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes 9 seconds. Athlete Nguyen Thi Thuy Van (Khanh Hoa) finished second with a time of 2 hours 46 minutes 49 seconds and athlete Bui Thi Thu Ha finished third with a time of 2 hours 48 minutes 49 seconds. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa successfully defended her championship title.
Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang) continued to show her class when she won the women's 5 km race with a time of 16 minutes and 19 seconds, marking her 9th consecutive title at Tien Phong Marathon. Meanwhile, athlete Do Quoc Luat (Army) continued his stable performance when he won the men's 10 km race for the 11th time with a time of 30 minutes and 44 seconds.
Awarding prizes for the 5km women's race to the athletes with the highest achievements.
The Organizing Committee also awarded first, second and third prizes to athletes in other categories such as: 10km for young men and women and 5km for young women, and men's and women's team. In the team category, the Army team ranked first, Gia Lai province ranked second and Quang Tri ranked third.
The 66th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025 has ended with impressive records and fair-play spirit, contributing to promoting the image of resilient and potential Quang Tri.
