On August 1, at the Da Nang Writers' House, the People's Army Publishing House in collaboration with the Center for Supporting Literary and Artistic Creation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) opened the Literary Creation Camp on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" in 2023.

Colonel Nguyen Hoang Sau, Deputy Director of the Army Publishing House, delivered the opening speech of the Writing Camp.
There are 15 poets and writers of all generations who are passionate about writing about soldiers, revolutionary war and military traditions participating in the writing camp.
They are famous writers, loyal to the theme of soldiers and revolutionary war: Ha Pham Phu, Ha Dinh Can, Nguyen Trong Tan, An Binh Minh, Hoang Du, Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Chau La Viet, Nguyen Tham Thien Ke...
Along with them are young writers: Truong Chi Hung, Xuan Hung...; writers who have had achievements in writing about military topics in localities: Nguyen Thanh Hai (Tien Giang), Nguyen Tam My (Phu Yen), Tran Khanh Toan (Hanoi)...
Notably, from the red land of Binh Phuoc, there are two female writers participating, Bui Thi Bien Linh and Linh Tam. Over the years, both of them have had many works (novels, short stories) on the subject of soldiers, and have been published and introduced at the Army Publishing House.
Some of the writers and poets attending the camp are veterans who have experienced the war years and are passionate about the topic of soldiers, because that is their life and their love.
Almost all their lives, the above-mentioned writers wrote only about soldiers and their comrades. Up to now, many of them are over 70 years old, but their writing ability is still very strong, especially when talking about the heroic years of fighting. In each page of their writing, they show a love of literature and a very passionate attachment to the army.
Colonel Nguyen Hoang Sau, Deputy Director of the Army Publishing House; Colonel-PhD Dang Thi My Hanh, Deputy Head of the Literature and Arts Department of the General Department of Politics; Colonel Do Thanh Xuan, Deputy Head of the Political Department of Military Region 5; Nguyen Song Hien, Deputy Director of the Center for Supporting Literary and Artistic Creation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism... warmly welcomed generations of writers to participate in the camp.
The Organizing Committee hopes that the writing camp will have a bumper harvest of literary works, especially thick novels written about the themes of revolutionary war and armed forces soldiers.
The opinions exchanged at the opening ceremony were unanimous and affirmed that the literature about revolutionary war and armed forces soldiers has continuously flowed in the country's literary stream for many years with many excellent works, always receiving the participation of many generations of writers inside and outside the army.
Literature about revolutionary war is a field that never fails to yield, the more it is tilled the more fertile it becomes. The topic of "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" and today's soldiers is always a valuable truth, a space containing attractive cultural sediments for artists to work enthusiastically and reap success. At the same time, this is also a topic that always has a very strong appeal to the public.
Also at the opening ceremony of the Writing Camp, Writer Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of the Culture and Arts Times, on behalf of the writers, thanked the Army Publishing House for their enthusiasm and trust in the theme of revolutionary war and the armed forces soldiers and asked for permission from the Camp Management Board to select outstanding works from the Writing Camp to participate in the Novel Contest organized by the Culture and Arts Times.
