Opening of the 2nd Conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X

On the afternoon of February 19, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held the 2nd Conference of the Presidium, 10th tenure.

Attending the Conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, non-professional Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Mr. Tran Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; members of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee who are members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that in the exciting and warm atmosphere of the first days of the new spring of At Ty 2025, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, solemnly organized the 2nd Conference.

According to Chairman Do Van Chien, the 2nd Conference, 10th tenure of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was held at a very important time when the entire Party, people and army are striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.

“In particular, the conference was held on the occasion when the Politburo decided to establish the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations (with 22 Party Committees and affiliated Party cells) to enhance the role and quality of the Party's leadership and direction in the political tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State, meeting the requirements of gathering and promoting the tradition and strength of great national unity in the era of striving to build a strong, prosperous and developed country in the coming time,” Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized.

Chairman Do Van Chien stated that 2025 is of special importance, being the second year of implementing the Resolution of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the final year of accelerating and breaking through to successfully implement the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025; and at the same time, the year of organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat have concluded that the National Assembly has just concluded its 9th extraordinary session and decided on many very important and historic contents to strive to achieve an economic growth rate of 8% or more in 2025. Fast but sustainable growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances; harmonious development between the economy and society and environmental protection, ensuring national defense and security. Therefore, it requires the efforts of the entire Party, people, and army.

Chairman Do Van Chien said that according to the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front approved by the 10th Congress, the Presidium is responsible for preparing the contents to submit to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for consideration and decision. Accordingly, at this conference, the Presidium will focus on discussing and agreeing on: Draft Regulations on the operations of the Central Committee, the Presidium, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029; Draft Work Program for the entire term of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029; Giving opinions on the report of the Standing Committee on the establishment of Advisory Councils of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029; Contents on personnel work according to authority; Program of the 3rd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X; Reflecting the thoughts, aspirations and opinions of all classes of people.

Emphasizing that the content of the Conference is very important and the Conference time is limited, Chairman Do Van Chien respectfully requests that all seniors, ladies and gentlemen, and comrades promote democracy, concentrate their intelligence, uphold their responsibilities, and enthusiastically discuss the content of the reports prepared by the Standing Committee. On that basis, the Standing Committee will direct the acceptance and completion of the submission to the 3rd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for consideration and decision.

At the Conference, Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented a Report asking for opinions on the Operating Regulations of the Central Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029. Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy presented a Report asking for opinions on the Working Program of the entire term of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029. Vice President To Thi Bich Chau presented a Report on the establishment of the Advisory Councils of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
