Opening of the 3rd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure

On the morning of February 20, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held the 3rd Conference of the 10th tenure.

The Conference was chaired by Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Vice Presidents: Hoang Cong Thuy, To Thi Bich Chau.

Attending the Conference were Ms. Ha Thi Khiet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, Non-professional Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, Non-professional Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr. Nguyen Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization; members of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee who are members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that the 3rd Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, was held at a very important time. Our country has just ended 2024 with many very encouraging achievements, completing 15/15 socio-economic targets. The entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army are making the greatest efforts, accelerating to complete the goals and tasks set by the 13th National Congress of the Party; Resolutely implementing the revolution to arrange and streamline the apparatus of the political system to operate effectively, efficiently, and effectively. The National Assembly has just concluded its 9th extraordinary session; Amending and supplementing legal documents to successfully implement the Party's correct policies and guidelines; Continuing to remove difficulties and institutional barriers to promote socio-economic development, striving to achieve a growth rate of over 8% in 2025.

“The Politburo has decided to establish the Central Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations. Accordingly, the Central Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations includes Party organizations at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Agency, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations at the Central level assigned tasks by the Party and the State. With 22 Party Committees and affiliated Party cells, about 5,000 Party members, the Party Committee has the function of leading and orienting the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned tasks by the Party and the State,” informed Chairman Do Van Chien.

Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, and people of all walks of life throughout the country deeply feel that under the wise and correct leadership of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, our Party and our country continue to strongly implement the renovation policy, with pride, self-reliance, self-reliance, and confidence to bring our country into an era of self-reliance, development, wealth, and prosperity, and our people have a prosperous and happy life.

In that context, the Vietnam Fatherland Front further thoroughly grasps the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, resolutely innovates the content and methods of operation, gathers and unites all classes of people, mobilizes resources, under the leadership of the Party, unites and joins hands to protect and build a rich and prosperous country. The focus is on successfully implementing the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

With that request, Chairman Do Van Chien suggested that the delegates focus on the following contents: Discussing and approving the Working Regulations of the Central Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029; Drafting the entire working program of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029; Carrying out personnel work according to authority; Emulation and reward work in 2024.

“A very important content is that the members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, in their working positions nationwide, reflect the situation, thoughts and aspirations of the people of all walks of life, propose and recommend solutions to strongly promote the tradition and strength of great national unity in the era of our country's rise,” Chairman Do Van Chien stated.

Emphasizing that in order to have more delegates speak, Chairman Do Van Chien said that the Conference Chairman will divide the discussion into groups with the hope of hearing more opinions from the Committee members.

“We express our belief and excitement for the Party’s major policies, and at the same time have our reflections, thoughts, aspirations, and appropriate suggestions. On that basis, the Presidium will direct the gathering, analysis, evaluation, and reflections to the Party and State leaders and competent agencies, so that we can create the highest social consensus among all classes of people, and join hands to successfully implement the correct, very new, and very drastic policies and guidelines of our Party and State,” Chairman Do Van Chien suggested.

According to Chairman Do Van Chien, from the historical experience of 4,000 years of building and defending the country of our nation, it shows that in historical moments, we must make historical decisions and must have historical factors. Therefore, this is a time of historical significance for the new era of the country. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality and activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front right from the Conferences.

Chairman Do Van Chien requested delegates, seniors, gentlemen, and comrades to promote democracy, concentrate their intelligence, heighten their responsibility, and contribute many valid opinions so that the Presidium and the Standing Committee can receive and complete the documents for implementation.

At the Conference, Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented a proposal asking for opinions on the Operating Regulations of the Central Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024 - 2029.

The conference also divided into 3 discussion groups to discuss the Operating Regulations of the Central Committee, the Presidium, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure; The working program of the entire term of the Presidium and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, term 2024 - 2029; Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Implementing Conclusion No. 123-KL/TW dated January 24, 2025 of the Party Central Committee on the Supplementary Project on socio-economic development in 2025 with the growth target of 8% or more; Reflecting opinions and recommendations of all classes of people.
