Opening of the 16th National Radio Festival

With the theme "Vietnam Radio - Diversity in Digital Transformation", the 2024 National Radio Festival has the participation of 81 units with 380 entries in 6 categories: reportage, thematic programs, interviews, ethnic language radio programs, radio stories, live radio programs. Notably, this year's Festival has a sharp increase in live radio programs with the number of participating units reaching 37 (29 units in 2022). After the preliminary round held in Tuyen Quang province, the Jury selected 228 works from 81 units to enter the final round. Son La Radio and Television Station contributed 3 works in 3 categories: ethnic language radio programs, thematic radio programs and live radio programs.

The works submitted to the Festival were assessed by the Organizing Committee to be of uniform quality, with correct, timely topics, elaborate staging, and many innovations and creativity, better meeting the needs of the public.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: the radio industry is increasingly affirming its position and role as a sharp ideological weapon, a key information channel, a pioneer, leading and orienting public opinion; a reliable forum for people to participate in monitoring, criticizing and managing society; a bridge between the Party, the State and the People, contributing to creating social consensus, strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State. The Head of the Central Propaganda Department expressed his belief that this year's Radio Festival will bring many practical meanings and effects, an opportunity for radio broadcasters nationwide to demonstrate their enthusiasm, talent, responsibility and noble qualities of journalists; is a forum for exchanging and sharing experiences to improve the quality of radio programs, grasp new trends in modern radio, discuss methods of approaching audiences, as well as find directions for economic models of journalism, including radio, in a more effective and sustainable way./.
