The first time tasting this famous dish in Hanoi, the Japanese guest continuously praised it as delicious, commenting on the sweet broth and tender, flavorful beef.
In the last days of the year of Giap Thin, preparing to enter the new year of At Ty 2025, Zoro (from Japan) had a 4-day, 3-night trip in Hanoi.
In addition to going to the temple to pray for luck and enjoy the bustling year-end atmosphere of Vietnamese people, Zoro also took the opportunity to experience street food and enjoy many famous delicacies in the capital.
Among them, beef noodle soup is the dish that impressed Japanese guests the most, likening it to a "feast for the senses", with endless compliments.
The place Zoro visited was a famous pho restaurant located on Lo Duc street (Pham Dinh Ho ward, Hai Ba Trung district).
The restaurant was established in 1979. Since its inception, the restaurant has only served rare beef pho.
Even though it was late at noon, Zoro was quite surprised to see that the number of customers coming to eat pho was still very large. Everyone was lining up to order and pay.
Here, he ordered a portion of rare beef pho, priced at 75,000 VND.
When the hot bowl of pho was served, the Japanese guest seemed delighted because the dish looked attractive.
He immediately tasted the first spoonful of broth and commented on the impressive taste.
“The broth is delicious. The flavors are quite diverse, it's hard to guess what ingredients are in it, but I can taste the sweetness,” Zoro described.
Even the delicious taste of the pho broth made him exclaim, "Vietnam is the land of spices."
Zoro said that the interesting thing is that the beef pho broth has an amazing change, “a new and better version” when seasoned with a few spices such as garlic vinegar, chili sauce, fish sauce or lemon.
In addition to the broth, the Japanese guest also had many compliments for the pho noodles and beef. He commented that the beef was soft, rich and easy to eat, while the pho noodles were smooth and well-flavored.
“The beef pho is so delicious, it has so many different flavors. The beef and pho go really well with this type of broth,” Zoro added.
At the end of the meal, he nodded repeatedly to show his satisfaction with the famous pho. He admitted that it was a “feast for the senses.”
It is known that during his time exploring Hanoi, Zoro also had the opportunity to experience some other delicious dishes such as rib porridge, stir-fried pho, pho cuon, banh xeo, banh mi...
