This test case was validated at the 76th meeting of the Global Certification Forum (GCF) Conformance Agreement Group (CAG), and will be used with Keysight's 5G network simulation compliance test platform (TP168).
Keysight is developing satellite networking solutions using narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology.
Satellite-to-terrestrial connectivity based on 5G standards is an important step toward building a satellite network (NTN) that provides ubiquitous mobile connectivity and broadband internet access to people living in rural areas where terrestrial infrastructure is lacking. Widespread deployment of 5G NTN networks can bring significant health, safety, and financial benefits to rural residents, while improving economic conditions for industries such as agriculture, energy, healthcare, and transportation.
New NTN Network NB-IoT test cases are available through the S8704A Protocol Conformance Toolset and validate the ability of chipsets and devices to handle NTN-related path loss and latency. Keysight’s Protocol Conformance Toolset provides designers with a comprehensive set of test cases, GCF and PTCRB prioritization, and can be used to certify chipsets, modules, and devices and accelerate time to market.
"This 3GPP Release 17 LTE NTN test case validation demonstrates Keysight's commitment to the NTN network equipment ecosystem and its ability to rapidly adopt new 5G New Radio specifications," said Muthu Kumaran, Keysight's general manager.
