According to information from Indonesian media, goalkeeper Syahrul Trisna flew to Vietnam this morning, March 26, to attend the match against the host team. This information was confirmed by coach Shin Tae-yong's assistant - Mr. Nova Arianto.
In the March training session, the Indonesian team called up three goalkeepers: Nadeo Argawinata, Muhammad Riyandi and Muhammad Adi Satryo. However, Nadeo was injured a few hours before the first leg. Mr. Shin Tae-yong used Adi Satryo at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
After the first leg, Muhammad Riyandi had a fever but recovered in time to travel to Hanoi with the team. Nadeo Argawinata was dropped from the squad and goalkeeper Ernando Ari was urgently called up to replace him.
Goalkeeper Trisna was urgently summoned.
On the afternoon of March 25, in the open training session at My Dinh, all three goalkeepers Muhammad Riyandi, Ernando Ari and Muhammad Adi Satryo participated in the training.
However, according to Indonesian media, coach Shin Tae-yong is concerned about Ernando Ari's situation because he has not fully recovered from his shoulder injury. Therefore, the Korean strategist decided to call up Syahrul Trisna as a replacement.
The Indonesian team is currently suffering from health problems. Only 22 players participated in the training session on the afternoon of March 25, while the registered list was 26.
The four absent players include Dimas Drajad, Pratama Arhan, Ivar Jenner and Rafael Struick. This group all had fever and were not in Vietnam. However, Struick recovered in time to fly to Hanoi on the evening of March 25. The remaining three players are unlikely to be in time for the match.
Among the absentees, Pratama Arhan is the most concerned name. He is an effective tactical solution for coach Shin Tae-yong in throw-in situations. In the first leg, the Suwon FC player contributed to Egy Maulana's goal.
Coach Shin Tae-yong relied heavily on his naturalized players. However, with Sandy Walsh suspended and Marc Klok injured, the Korean coach had only six naturalized players for the match at My Dinh. Indonesia lost nearly half of its naturalized players in the initial training list.
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 7pm today.
