(Dan Tri) - Hungary scored in the 10th minute of injury time to win 1-0 against Scotland at MHPArena (Stuttgart, Germany). With 3 points, Hungary rose to 3rd place in Group A and hopes to reach the round of 16.
Before the final match, Hungary were bottom of Group A after two defeats, with Scotland above them, who had earned one point. Both teams knew that the right to decide their place in the next round was not in their hands and only a victory would give hope to the winner of this match. Hungary eventually won thanks to a goal in the 90+10 minute. Hungary (in white) won against Scotland (Photo: Getty). After the opening whistle, both teams entered the match fiercely, both showing their determination to win this match. Scotland controlled the ball better but Hungary was the team that organized attacks towards the opponent's goal. Unfortunately, most of the shots of coach Rossi's students were not really sharp, only one of the 5 shots was on target. Hungary's best chance in the first half came in the 41st minute, starting from a free kick in the middle, Orban ran down to receive a cross from his teammate, he headed near the left post but the ball bounced off the crossbar. In the first 45 minutes, Scotland did not have a single shot. In the second half, Hungary improved their ball control to almost the same level as Scotland. However, scoring opportunities continued to pass right in front of the Hungarian players' shoes, sometimes the shots were inaccurate, sometimes they could not get past goalkeeper Gunn. Scotland had some shots in the second half, but their chances of scoring were not clear, and Hungary's goalkeeper Gulacsic did not have much to do. In the 90+2 minute, Csoboth rushed down from the right side of the penalty area and shot diagonally, hitting the left post of Scotland's goal and bouncing out. It was thought that the two teams would draw and go home, but a surprise broke out in the 10th minute of extra time. Sallai dribbled down close to the right touchline and passed the ball back to the center of the penalty area, just in time for Csoboth to shoot into Scotland's net to open the scoring. The late goal brought Hungary 3 points, and coach Rossi's team rose to 3rd place in Group A, hoping to be in the top 4 best 3rd-placed teams in the 6 groups. Scotland will be eliminated after the group stage, with only one draw and 2 losses.
