On the afternoon of February 25, Tra Vinh Provincial Department of Health held a meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025).
Attending the meeting were comrades: Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Quynh Thien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Kien Soc Kha, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and nearly 400 delegates, leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province; leaders of the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities; leaders of medical centers, hospitals, clinics, companies, and staff, doctors of the industry through the periods.

At the meeting, Specialist Doctor II Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, read the congratulatory letter of Vietnam Doctors' Day from Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han to the health sector staff on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day. The delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the sector and the outstanding achievements of the health sector in recent times. At the same time, they expressed gratitude for the dedication of the medical team, doctors and generations of doctors who have contributed to the good implementation of the work of taking care of people's health.

Infrastructure and medical equipment from the province to the grassroots level have been invested, medical services are increasingly diverse and of high quality, fully meeting the conditions for medical examination, treatment and preventive medicine. In particular, Tra Vinh General Hospital has been upgraded to 900 beds, recognized as a Grade I Hospital, meeting the increasing needs of medical examination and treatment of the people.

Up to now, Tra Vinh has achieved 29.69 hospital beds/10,000 people, 10.91 doctors/10,000 people, average life expectancy is 74.93 years old; there are 125 medical examination and treatment facilities (115 public medical examination and treatment facilities and 10 private medical facilities), many new and modern techniques are applied in medical examination and treatment, the number of malnourished children has decreased every year, below the rate prescribed by the Ministry of Health, disease prevention and control work has been effectively implemented...

Meritorious Physician, Specialist II Nguyen Van Doi, Deputy Director of the Department of Health launched the patriotic emulation movement of the industry in 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han praised, appreciated and expressed gratitude for the dedication of the team of doctors, nurses and medical staff of the industry who always uphold the sense of responsibility, devote themselves to the cause of taking care of people's health, and complete their tasks well.
To maintain and promote the achievements associated with the characteristics of the industry, it is recommended that in the coming time, the team of cadres, doctors, and civil servants in the health sector continue to unite to maintain the goal of taking care of people's health, continue to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style associated with the 12 medical ethics with practical actions, worthy of the trust and honor of society. At the same time, constantly study, improve skills, professional qualifications, apply advanced scientific and technical achievements to medical examination and treatment, join hands for the health of the community.

Raising public awareness of food hygiene and safety and prevention of dangerous diseases. Promoting administrative procedure reform and digital transformation in the health sector, contributing to the cause of caring for and protecting the health of people in the province, contributing to building Tra Vinh homeland to become more and more prosperous and developed.
On this occasion, the Department of Health announced the President's Decision to confer the title of Meritorious Physician on 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the cause of protecting, caring for and improving people's health.
