Press conference to launch the fourth political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024

On the morning of January 24, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to hold a press conference to launch the fourth political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee of 35 provinces and delegates attended the press conference at the Provincial Political School bridge.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Steering Committee of the contest chaired the press conference. Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee 35 of the province attended the press conference at the bridge point of Thai Binh Provincial Political School.

Accordingly, the contestants are Vietnamese people at home and abroad, foreigners whose political works meet the criteria of the contest. The entries include 5 categories: magazines (printed or electronic magazines), newspapers (printed and electronic newspapers), radio, television, video clips; are original creative works, never published or published in mass media and social networks before the launch of the contest.

The theme of the work focuses on fundamental and core issues on the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints such as: continuing to affirm the scientific, revolutionary and contemporary values of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought and proposals for supplementation and development in accordance with the requirements, revolutionary tasks and new situations; spreading breakthrough and creative achievements in theory in the Party's innovation path, firmly protecting the country's foundation, potential, position and international prestige in the new context; clarifying the process of developing theories on the country's innovation path, on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam from the practice of nearly 40 years of innovation associated with the struggle and refuting of distorted arguments...

The time for receiving entries starts from the launch of the contest (January 24, 2024) until July 15, 2024 (based on the postmark).

The announcement and award ceremony of the contest will be held in October 2024 on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the 12th Politburo's issuance of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the contest, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Contest Steering Committee emphasized: The contest was launched to continue affirming the important role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation; raising awareness, responsibility, and enthusiasm of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and people; at the same time, discovering, training, fostering, and practicing skills for the forces, thereby forming a widespread network, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, effectively fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Steering Committee of the contest expressed his hope that through the contest, the work of Party building and rectification will continue to be promoted; the protection of the Party's ideological foundation will be strengthened; the achievements that have been made will be affirmed, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the Party's resolutions, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Congress in the new context and new situation.
