On the morning of February 6, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics chaired and coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to hold a press conference to launch the 5th political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2025.

The content of the 5th political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2025 focuses on 3 groups of topics: Protecting, applying and developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought in the current context, protecting and spreading the theory of the Party's path of national renewal; protecting and spreading the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the cause of renovation and building socialism in Vietnam, Vietnam's achievements over 40 years of renovation, Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, strategic decisions and revolutionary transformations to bring the country into a new era of development, identifying and fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints; practical experience in organizing the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints in the new situation of agencies, localities and units.
Entries are in 5 categories: Magazine (printed or electronic magazine), newspaper (printed and electronic newspaper), radio, television, video clip; are original creative works, never published or published in mass media and social networks before the launch date of the contest. Contestants are Vietnamese people at home and abroad, foreigners whose political works meet the criteria of the contest. The time for receiving entries is from the launch date of the contest (February 6, 2025) to July 15, 2025 (based on the postmark). The announcement and award ceremony of the contest is expected to be held in October 2025 on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the issuance of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW by the 12th Politburo on October 22, 2018 on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation.

Speaking at the press conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Steering Committee of the contest emphasized: The 5th political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation aims to continue affirming the important role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views; providing arguments, models, and good practices to spread the Party's important policies and decisions, contributing to preparing the conditions and foundations to bring the country into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
He requested that agencies, units, and localities, especially the Steering Committee 35 of units and localities, actively and proactively participate in propaganda, mobilization, and mobilizing the response and participation of a large number of cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life nationwide.
