The project of the route connecting Quang Tri Airport with National Highway 1 will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality and the region.
On the morning of December 13, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong had just signed a decision approving the project of the road connecting Quang Tri Airport with National Highway 1.

The project is invested by the Quang Tri Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board. Phase 1 of the project has a route length of nearly 2.9km, the starting point intersects with the Eastern bypass of Dong Ha city, section Km 10+971, the end point connects the road to Quang Tri Airport.
The cross-section scale is 48.5m wide according to the planning, in which phase 1 invests in 2 branches on both sides according to the planning center, the branch center is 13.5m from the planning center. The investment scale for each side is with a roadbed width of 6.5m, in which the road surface is 5.5m, the dirt roadside on each side is 0.5m.
The intersection with the Eastern bypass of Dong Ha City is designed as an at-grade intersection. The intersection with the old 73 Dong Road in Gio Linh District is designed as an at-grade intersection, controlled by traffic lights. The intersection at the entrance to Quang Tri Airport is designed as an at-grade intersection with a roundabout.
The project has a total investment of more than 89.6 billion VND, from the central budget and provincial budget, with implementation progress from 2022-2025.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the investment in building a road connecting Quang Tri airport aims to gradually complete the province's transport infrastructure system; connect with regional transport infrastructure and eastern tourist areas in Gio Linh district, promoting socio-economic development.
In particular, the construction of the route connecting Quang Tri Airport with National Highway 1 - Phase 1 will complete part of the route connecting the airport (from National Highway 1 to the coastal road) according to the approved planning of Quang Tri province, contributing significantly to serving the socio-economic development in the province.
The Quang Tri Provincial People's Council issued a Resolution approving the investment policy for the project connecting Quang Tri Airport with National Highway 1 in December 2021. According to the expected investment scale, the route from National Highway 1 to the coastal route is about 11.5km long. The project implementation period is from 2022-2025.
The project was then approved by the People's Council of Quang Tri province to adjust the investment policy in August 2023 and July 2024.
