This October, Hanoi is bustling with the Pool Billiards Tournament from Matchroom - the world's leading Billiards tournament organizer - in collaboration with the Hanoi People's Committee and Vietcontent Company. The Hanoi Open Pool Championship brings together 256 top players from around the world to compete, including 25 players representing regions ranked in the top 128 in the world according to the latest World 9-Ball Tour rankings such as Francesco Sanchez Ruiz, Shane Van Boening, Joshua Filler, Jayson Shaw, Fedor Gorst.
Of the remaining 128 spots, 64 spots were reserved for independent players who registered on the Matchroom homepage and were sold out just over 2 minutes after the organizers opened the registration portal, including famous Vietnamese players: Nguyen Anh Tuan, Luong Duc Thien, Do The Kien, Pham Phuong Nam, Bui Truong An and many players from countries around the world. The last 64 spots will be reserved for the host Vietnam - athletes who passed the Hanoi Open Qualifiers and the Peri 9-Ball Open tournament taking place from October 2 to October 4.

On the first day, after 3 intense matches, the tournament determined the first 16 players who won the right to participate in Peri Open and Hanoi Open. Peri 9-Ball Open – the companion tournament of Hanoi Open will be held from October 5 to October 9 at Peri Pool Arena 64 Bach Dang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The tournament will gather 128 players, including 64 top players in the World Nine Ball Tour rankings along with 64 players who won the Qualifying Round. This tournament is part of the WNT ranking system with a total prize of up to 104,000 USD, organized by Hanoi People's Committee in collaboration with Vietcontent and Matchroom.
The 256 players competing in the Hanoi Open Pool Championship and Peri 9-Ball Open are not only aiming to win Matchroom’s first tournament in Vietnam, they will also be looking for decisive tickets to the Mosconi Cup. This will certainly create a more competitive tournament than ever. The prize money for the Peri Open and Hanoi Open is over 100,000 USD and 200,000 USD respectively.
