The 1st Hung Vuong Cup Tan Chau ornamental chicken beauty contest

On March 23, the Provincial Association of Ornamental Plants and Gardening (SVC&LV) and the Hung Vuong Provincial Ornamental Chicken Club organized the 1st Hung Vuong Cup Tan Chau Ornamental Chicken Beauty Contest in 2025.

The Organizing Committee awarded First, Second and Third prizes to individuals whose ornamental chickens achieved high scores in the competition.

The contest attracted the participation of nearly 20 ornamental chicken clubs from provinces and cities across the country with nearly 100 ornamental chickens participating. The judges selected chickens based on criteria such as: Chickens weighing less than 1.1 kg for seasonal chickens and less than 1.05 kg for young chickens, bright colors, vigorous, majestic, friendly, many feathers, neat face, horse feathers, long tail...; technical criteria such as: Head, wings, legs, mane feathers, body feathers, tail,... Then select the most beautiful chickens to participate in the ranking performance round.

The judges scored according to many criteria to select the best chickens.

The Tan Chau Cup Hung Vuong ornamental chicken beauty contest attracted nearly 20 ornamental chicken clubs inside and outside the province to participate.

In the preliminary round, the judges will score the chickens according to the regulations such as appearance, color, smoothness of the chicken feathers and weight to ensure that the chickens meet the regulations to compete in the final round. In the final round, the artist and the chicken will go up on stage to show the chicken's walking style and the friendliness between the chicken and the owner so that the judges can score each detail according to the published score sheet.

After 2 rounds of judging, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize to Mr. Nguyen Tien Tung from the Thai Nguyen Province's ornamental chicken club, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, 2 Encouragement Prizes. In addition, 5 top ten prizes for seasonal chickens and 10 prizes for young chickens were awarded to members of the participating clubs at the contest.

This is the first year that the Hung Vuong Provincial Ornamental Chicken Club has organized a contest. Through the contest, it aims to preserve and develop the beauty of the precious bantam chicken breed in Vietnam, while creating a useful playground, exchange and connection between ornamental chicken lovers across the country.
