In addition, the organizers hope that the workshop will help provide objective assessments of the current state of the East Sea, in terms of natural, economic, political and social conditions, calling on countries in the European Union (EU) and international organizations to support and fund scientific research cooperation projects related to the East Sea.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong emphasized that as a coastal country with sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos and a member of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Vietnam has been promoting cooperation in many fields, both bilaterally, regionally and multilaterally, based on the provisions of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, for peace, security, stability, cooperation and development. According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Dong, overseas Vietnamese around the world have made many contributions to the protection of the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese highly appreciates and respects meaningful contributions and activities such as this workshop in Warsaw, demonstrating the love and connection between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland; the connection between all Vietnamese people in the cause of protecting Vietnam's sovereignty with the spirit that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.

Earlier, in his opening speech at the workshop, Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai assessed the workshop “East Sea: Research and Development Cooperation” as a timely and important initiative in the current context. According to the Ambassador, the East Sea is of particular importance to Vietnam’s security and development. Therefore, organizing this workshop helps to share knowledge and in-depth understanding of important issues related to the East Sea, while promoting solidarity among the Vietnamese community and mobilizing resources to support the cause of defending the Fatherland and building the country. Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai emphasized the consistent and clear policy of the Party and State of Vietnam in protecting national sovereignty and interests at sea: "Resolutely and persistently fight to protect the sovereignty and legitimate and legal interests of the nation at sea, while proactively and actively resolving and handling disputes and disagreements in the East Sea by peaceful means on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; maintaining a peaceful, stable and cooperative environment for development".
Within the framework of the conference, there will also be a photo exhibition about Vietnam's sea and islands, and performances of traditional cultural performances, demonstrating the spirit of connection, consolidation and strengthening the solidarity of the Vietnamese community abroad in general and in Europe in particular.
