On October 26, at the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), a national conference on “Political Economics: Contemporary Issues” took place. This is a forum for policy makers, researchers, associations, and administrators to discuss and exchange on contemporary global political economics issues.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Truc Le, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), political economy has been affirming its role as a leading scientific field, widely researched and taught globally.
Over the years, the field has grown and become multidimensional, addressing pressing issues of the contemporary world such as inequality, redistribution, sustainable development, globalization, economic crises, and economic-environmental policies.
The constant changes in the economic, political, and social situation require political economy science to constantly innovate and update to keep up with the world's development trends and effectively contribute to theoretical work.
"Political economy in Vietnam has made important theoretical contributions, forming the foundation for the Party and State's policies, contributing to the achievements of the renovation process.
However, the connections and breaks between continuity, traditional inheritance and novelty require strengthening scientific dialogue on contemporary and traditional issues, creating an open discussion space as a basis for promoting the development of political economic science in Vietnam," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le emphasized.

The workshop focused on clarifying contemporary political economy issues in Vietnam. This is an important part, reflecting the rapid development and challenges that Vietnam's political economy is facing in the process of global integration, the impacts of the new world order on Vietnam's political economy in general and Vietnam's industrialization and modernization process in particular.
Issues such as economic reform, green and sustainable development policies in Vietnam, resource management and sustainable development, climate change, financial crisis, economic inequality... were also discussed in depth by the speakers.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Truc Le hopes that through the conference, many new ideas will be developed, supplemented with scientific and practical arguments. Thereby contributing to enhancing the country's position, maintaining national identity, helping Vietnam to be more successful in economic recovery in particular and socio-economic development in general.
