Vietnam Journalists Association strengthens cooperation with Chiang Mai province

At the invitation of the Chiang Mai Provincial Journalists Association (Thailand), from April 23-28, a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association led by Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung visited and worked in Thailand.

The delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association was welcomed at the administrative center of Chiang Mai province (Thailand)

The working delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association was organized by the Chiang Mai Journalists Association to visit and exchange experiences, professional skills as well as cooperate in supporting the media to give localities of both sides opportunities for development.

At the meeting, journalist Tran Trong Dung informed about the situation of press activities in Vietnam in general, the Southern region, especially Ho Chi Minh City in particular. “Returning to Chiang Mai this time, we are very happy to be warmly welcomed. We hope that through the meetings and exchanges, we will contribute to promoting cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam in the field of media. In addition, this will be a bridge for trade and economic exchange activities, especially in the Mekong Delta region. In our working delegation, there are some representatives of the Mekong Delta such as Can Tho and Vinh Long, who will be the localities introducing effective cooperation opportunities,” Mr. Tran Trong Dung emphasized.

Representatives of the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association also shared about the potential for cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture, and tourism between Chiang Mai and Vietnam, especially the southern provinces in the coming time.

Chiang Mai Deputy Governor Worawid Chaisawad expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association. Mr. Worawid Chaisawad said that this is a bridge for cooperation and promotion of Chiang Mai tourism to Vietnam and the world.

“Tourists can conveniently travel to Chiang Mai by air, road, and rail. About 70% of Chiang Mai residents' income comes from tourism. We thank you for your suggestions and hope to have the opportunity to cooperate with Vietnam, especially in the southern region, in the near future. I also look forward to having the opportunity to visit Vietnam," said Mr. Worawid Chaisawad.

Vietnam Journalists Association presents souvenirs to Chiang Mai province

Mr. Amnat Jongyotying, President of Chiang Mai Provincial Journalists Association, said that over the years, Chiang Mai Journalists Association has had many cooperative exchange programs with the Vietnam Journalists Association as well as local journalist associations, bringing about many practical results and strengthening the camaraderie. In the coming time, the delegation will have a working trip to Vietnam to promote bilateral cooperation issues between the two journalist associations.
