Reporter (PV): How has the work of mobilizing cadres and members of the War Veterans Association to actively participate in contributing ideas to build and protect the Party, the government, the socialist regime, the people and the great national unity bloc been implemented by the War Veterans Associations at all levels in the province in recent times, comrade?
Comrade Le Dinh Cuoc: Over the past years, the provincial Association of War Veterans has synchronously carried out its political tasks and achieved many results in the fields of economic development, culture - society, national defense - security from the province to localities. Among them, the most important task is to actively participate in building and protecting the Party, government, socialist regime, protecting the people and the great national unity bloc.
To effectively carry out this task, the Veterans Association at all levels regularly organizes study, dissemination and propaganda for members to grasp the content of resolutions and directives of the Party and Party committees at all levels; takes the lead in implementing and propagating, mobilizing people to properly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and local laws and policies; takes the lead and is determined in fighting against false and reactionary arguments of hostile forces; closely coordinates with authorities at all levels, sectors and organizations to effectively resolve complicated cases, not allowing the formation of "hot spots", contributing to maintaining political stability in the locality.
The Association at all levels has also thoroughly instructed cadres and members to do a good job of propaganda, actively participate in the preparation process for Party Congresses at all levels and the 13th National Congress of the Party for the 2021-2025 term; elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, uphold the spirit of responsibility, contribute thousands of enthusiastic opinions to the draft documents, contributing to the success of the Congress.
With their political qualities, prestige and capacity, at the Party Congress and the election of People's Council delegates at all levels, the whole province had 3,552 cadres and members of the War Veterans Association elected to Party committees at all levels and 1,097 members elected as People's Council delegates at all levels. The trusted comrades have been promoting their capacity, being exemplary, prestigious, responsible and are the core force of the Association, directly participating in building the Party and government at the grassroots level.
Along with that, the Association of War Veterans has thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo "On strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against hostile and erroneous views". At the same time, closely following the direction of the Central Association and local Party committees, coordinating the organization of 206 social supervision and criticism sessions, participating in giving opinions on Party building and government building according to Decision 217, Decision 218 of the 11th Politburo; Regulation No. 124-QD/TW of the Secretariat. Contributing many responsible and dedicated opinions to Party committees and authorities at all levels. Grasping the thoughts and aspirations of war veterans and people, promptly reflecting and being received and resolved by Party and State agencies, contributing to creating consensus in society.
Closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations, and forces to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of people to resolve disputes, complaints, and compensation for site clearance in accordance with the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies; mobilize cadres, members, and people to properly implement the grassroots democracy regulations, conventions, and village covenants to build cultural residential areas, successfully participate in the mediation of 672 cases with 2,260 people, and reform 370 people who have made mistakes to make progress.
These results have contributed to building a strong local Party organization and government, maintaining political stability, social order and safety, and creating favorable conditions for local socio-economic development.
Reporter: Fighting against false arguments and protecting the Party's ideological foundation is one of the important tasks that the Veterans Association at all levels is paying attention to and directing. Could you please tell us how the provincial Veterans Association is implementing this task?
Comrade Le Dinh Cuoc: Based on the role and political tasks of the Veterans Association, over the years, the Association at all levels has regularly taken care of education and propaganda, helping members deeply understand and raise awareness of the Party's viewpoints, guidelines and policies; and the State's policies and laws.
During the 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo "On strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints", the Association at all levels organized 165 propaganda sessions for 49,048 members, reaching 97.5% of the members' participation; opened 3 training courses, integrating propaganda for 1,236 Association officials who are chairmen and vice chairmen of war veterans at district and grassroots levels.
Through propaganda activities, each cadre and member of the Veterans Association better understands the content of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, which is to protect Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's political platform and guidelines, protect the people, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule of law state; protect the cause of innovation, industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration; protect national and ethnic interests; maintain a peaceful and stable environment for national development.
At the same time, identify the plots, tricks and methods of operation of hostile forces, focusing on major events of the country such as: the occasion of organizing the 13th National Congress of the Party, the 22nd Congress of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, organizing the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term and the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic...
Thereby, being vigilant in fighting and refuting wrong and hostile viewpoints, protecting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's viewpoints and lines of innovation, building a steadfast and firm political will for cadres and members to absolutely trust in the Party's leadership and the State's management, contributing to maintaining political stability in the Association and the locality. The Association at all levels also promoted the implementation of Conclusion 01-KL/TW on "Continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW, dated May 15, 2016 of the 12th Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle" in conjunction with the implementation of the 4th Central Resolution on Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling ideological, political, moral and lifestyle degradation; manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization.
PV: In the coming time, what tasks and solutions will the Veterans Association implement in building and protecting the Party, government, socialist regime, protecting the people and the great national unity bloc?
Comrade Le Dinh Cuoc: The 13th Party Congress documents clearly stated the mission of the Vietnam Veterans Association: "Encourage veterans to promote the nature and tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers in building and protecting the Party, the State, the people and the socialist regime; protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile views; help each other do business and improve their lives. Strengthen the role of members in educating patriotism and revolutionary traditions for the younger generation, contributing to building and consolidating the political base, building a clean and strong Party and political system".
Faced with the complicated and unpredictable developments of the world and regional situation and the sabotage of hostile and reactionary forces, in the coming time, the provincial Veterans Association at all levels will continue to propagate and mobilize veterans to unite and promote the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; actively participate in giving opinions to build and protect the Party, the State, the people and the socialist regime; protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight and refute erroneous and hostile views; fight against bureaucracy, corruption, waste and negativity. Organize to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the directives and resolutions of the Party, the Association, the policies and laws of the State, and of local Party committees and authorities.
Along with propaganda work, the Association at all levels continues to do a good job of grasping the ideological situation and public opinion, proactively grasping information sources spread at the grassroots level to honestly reflect the aspirations of war veterans and people, building propaganda content against false arguments, thereby promoting democracy, helping people have the opportunity to express their views and opinions on economic, political, cultural, and social issues...
Through public opinion, adjust a number of policies and guidelines to suit the actual needs of the people and localities; resolutely eliminate fabricated and inaccurate information; promptly notify the authorities to handle false information that causes confusion in public opinion. At the same time, regularly coordinate closely with the government and sectors and organizations, do a good job of ideological work, orienting public opinion for cadres, members of the Veterans Association and the people; provide timely, diverse and accurate information, thereby refuting the false arguments of hostile forces, protecting the ideological foundation of the Party.
Actively fight against bureaucracy, corruption, waste, negativity, and prevent the strategy of "Peaceful evolution, violent overthrow" of hostile forces. Continue to perform well the tasks of social supervision and criticism, participate in giving opinions on Party building and government building according to Decision No. 217-QD/TW; 218-QD/TW; Regulation No. 124-QD/TW of the Secretariat; do well in mass mobilization work; implement the annual working theme of the Provincial Party Executive Committee.
