Dai Loc held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the homeland

Attending the ceremony were Major General Hua Van Tuong - Deputy Commander of Military Region 5; Comrade Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, generals who were the children of the homeland who fought in Dai Loc; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee; representatives of leaders of localities in the province and the twinned district of Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa).

Reading a speech at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hao - Secretary of Dai Loc District Party Committee emphasized: 50 years ago, on March 28, 1975, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Dai Loc district were extremely excited to welcome the important event in the history of revolutionary struggle - the day the district was completely liberated.

Going back in history, from mid-1974, after resounding victories on the battlefield, the power and strength of the Southern revolution grew stronger and stronger. Following the direction of the Quang Da Special Zone Party Committee, the entire Dai Loc district urgently prepared all necessary conditions for the offensive and uprising to seize all power into the hands of the people.

Immediately after the Standing Committee of Dai Loc District Party Committee decided to establish the District Uprising Committee, on the morning of March 26, 1975, the District Uprising Committee organized a large rally in Phu Long village, Dai Thang commune.

On the night of March 27, seizing the opportunity when the enemy's main force retreated to defend Da Nang, the masses rose up to disarm the enemy in the areas west of Cau Chim and Ai My. Taking advantage of the victory, on the morning of March 28, we continued to attack and rose up to control the area east of Cau Chim, close to the foot of Nui Lo. More than 15,000 people rose up to smash the enemy's suppression apparatus and, together with cadres and guerrillas, called on the remaining enemy troops still hiding to surrender to the revolution.

Also on March 28, our attacks all advanced close to Ai Nghia district. At exactly 4:00 p.m. on March 28, 1975, the power of the victorious army crushed the enemy's last resistance. The flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam proudly flew on the flagpole of Dai Loc district.

The victory on March 28, 1975 contributed to pushing the puppet army and government of Saigon into a desperate situation, their morale collapsed, their organization disintegrated, ending the 21-year resistance war against the US to save the country, which was arduous, sacrificial but very glorious. The victory was also a brilliant peak in the 117-year history of fighting against old and new colonialism in the heroic land of Dai Loc.

After the war, from a purely agricultural district, Dai Loc today has a fairly high economic growth rate over the years with an average rate of 10.6%. The proportion of industry - handicrafts - construction and trade - services reaches over 90%. Industrial clusters are invested and put into use with an occupancy rate of 76.3%.

Agriculture has developed comprehensively in the direction of commodity production, with production value increasing by an average of 4.5% per year. The entire district has mobilized resources to build many key traffic works, creating a new look on the heroic land... Dai Loc has completed the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in 17/17 communes...

Secretary of Dai Loc District Party Committee - Nguyen Hao emphasized: “Over the past 50 years, Dai Loc has been honored to receive many noble awards from the Party and the State. In 2014, the people and officials of Dai Loc district were awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President.

Continuing to promote revolutionary heroism and the spirit of victory on March 28 to liberate Dai Loc district, the Party Committee, government and people of Dai Loc continue to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, together with the whole country, effectively implement the major policies of the Central Government, firmly entering a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
