Highland students give wild flowers to thank teachers.

The clip was shared by teacher Nguyen Kim Hong, a teacher at Primary School No. 2 in Phong Hai town, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province, on her personal Tiktok account, touching many viewers.

In the clip, there are no beautifully wrapped gift boxes, nor red roses or yellow daisies. The gifts that highland students bring to class for their teachers are wild flowers from the roadside or in their home gardens. The flowers are carefully wrapped in newspaper.

Each student also sent their teachers wishes on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20. Some wishes were not yet fully articulated, but everyone who saw them was moved to tears.

The female teacher shared that she was very surprised when the clip posted with the purpose of preserving memories for later viewing, received so much attention. She herself received many good wishes, and encouragement for teachers and students to try their best, which made her very happy.

She was also surprised by the children's gifts, the wild flowers they picked from the hills and roadsides, some children even apologized to her for not having wrapping paper. All of them moved her.

"Not only me, but all teachers in the highlands receive such affection from students. This is the motivation and encouragement for us to overcome all difficulties to stay in school and in the village to spread knowledge," said teacher Hong.

Her class has 17 students, all of whom are Hmong ethnic group. Some of them cannot speak Vietnamese fluently, and 17/17 of them are from poor families.
