Ha Giang is known for many famous landmarks such as Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, Ma Pi Leng Pass - one of the "four great mountain passes" of Vietnam, Quan Ba ​​Twin Mountains, Tu San Canyon, Hoang Su Phi terraced fields... These are invaluable assets that 19 ethnic groups in Ha Giang province, through many generations, have together inherited and preserved to create the cultural features and characteristics of their people, painting a unique and colorful cultural picture, creating a special attraction for tourists.

Not only attracting tourists by the majestic nature, coming to Ha Giang, tourists can also immerse themselves in the vast grasslands, get lost in villages such as Lo Lo Chai, Nam Dam or Lung Cam Tren... where there are small, pretty houses built in the traditional architectural style of earthen walls, roofed with yin-yang tiles, blending in with the indigenous people with a colorful culture.

In recent times, Ha Giang has focused on building a highly competitive tourism product system, in the direction of professionalism, quality, and efficiency to ensure sustainable green tourism development.

In particular, Ha Giang's tourism products are exploited year-round, completely overcoming seasonality, spread evenly across three spaces: Northeast, Southwest and central area, in which the main products throughout 12 months of the year are the indigenous cultural values ​​of 19 ethnic groups associated with the model of cultural tourism villages; majestic natural landscapes and geological and geomorphological values.

Ha Giang also organizes many festivals, programs, and conferences to promote tourism with regional and regional linkages, thereby gradually enhancing the tourism brand of the rocky plateau land.

The province has proactively participated in activities and events with localities with potential tourism markets, especially 6 Viet Bac provinces and 8 expanded Northwestern provinces; organized many investment promotion conferences to invite domestic and foreign investors to participate in building tourism projects in the province; participated in activities in programs, festivals, and celebrations organized by the Central and regional governments, signed agreements with units and localities to cooperate in tourism development, product development, promotion, etc.

At the same time, proactively expand the international tourism development market, typically cooperating in developing culture and tourism with Yunnan province and Guangxi province (China).

Cooperation through activities of promoting, advertising, and promoting tourism, participating in major cultural and tourism events of each other; jointly building and exploiting tourism routes; coordinating the organization of tourism business delegations to survey tourism routes and organize forums to exchange tourism information; implementing a plan to survey and build products connecting the tourism route of Ha Giang (Vietnam) with Chau Van Son, Yunnan province (China).

Actively connect and expand cooperation with countries in the global geopark network such as France, Germany, Canada, Australia, etc.; participate in the program to launch the tourism market in Japan.

With the goal of promoting socialization and attracting investment in tourism development, from 2016 to 2020 alone, Ha Giang has invested more than 1,200 billion VND from the central and local budgets for programs and projects in the fields of culture, sports and tourism of the province; attracting 500 billion VND of socialized capital from enterprises and private investors in eco-tourism areas, accommodation facilities, and community cultural tourism villages.

Up to now, Ha Giang tourism infrastructure system has been constantly developing with 90 tourist attractions in operation, of which 16 have been recognized and 84 have not been recognized according to 4 types: 29 cultural, historical, scenic tourist attractions; 36 community and craft village tourist attractions; 17 spiritual tourist attractions; 8 eco-tourism, resort, entertainment and recreation attractions.

In 2024, Ha Giang province was honored by the World Travel Awards as “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024”. This is an important category in the WTA awards system, focusing on evaluating related criteria such as cultural preservation and sustainable development of natural resources and natural ecosystems.

Known as the “Oscars of the World Travel Industry”, the World Travel Awards (WTA) is the world's leading award in the tourism industry, held annually since 1993 to honor outstanding achievements in the tourism industry in all fields.

After a period of voting and evaluation by WTA, Ha Giang was honored to be awarded the title of "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination in 2024". This is a recognition of the province's efforts in building its image and developing in the right direction, focusing on sustainability; at the same time, it is also a motivation for Ha Giang to continue to strengthen synchronous implementation solutions, promote the title and achievements, raise the level and affirm the position of the locality on the regional and international tourism map in the coming time.
