Vietnam team doctors confirmed that midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc does not have too serious a problem, so he is still able to play in the match against Laos on March 25. Yesterday (March 20), Hoang Duc and the group of players who played a lot in the match against Cambodia did some light training at the gym.

Previously, Hoang Duc left the field after losing his balance in the second half of a friendly match against Cambodia at Binh Duong Stadium on March 19. He lay on the field in pain, tried to get up and play for a few more minutes before being let go. Head coach Kim Sang-sik expressed his concern: "Hoang Duc is an important player for the Vietnam team. When he showed signs of having problems, I replaced him."

Hoang Duc, born in 1998, has been a key midfielder for the Vietnamese national team since coach Park Hang-seo. During Philippe Troussier's time, he was not used much but quickly returned to the number one position when coach Kim Sang-sik came to lead.

Duc is the only player in the First Division to have a starting position in the Vietnam national team. At the ASEAN Cup 2024, the tournament Vietnam won, Duc played all 8 matches, making 1 assist. He is the current Silver Ball of Vietnam 2024.

The Vietnamese team has 4 days left to prepare for the match against Laos on the opening day of Group F, the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. This match will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Binh Duong Stadium.
