On October 10, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health organized a working group to visit Can Gio District Medical Center to assess and evaluate the necessary requirements according to regulations on infrastructure, equipment, and human resources when wanting to deploy artificial kidney dialysis techniques.
The appraisal team highly appreciated Le Van Thinh Hospital's efforts to improve its facilities and medical equipment system for artificial kidneys, basically meeting the needs of implementing artificial kidneys.
Infrastructure, equipment, and medical personnel needed for dialysis in Can Gio are ready.
At the same time, the Hospital has assigned medical staff with experience in dialysis to directly take charge of and manage the operation of the RO system in compliance with regulations and ensure patient safety when implementing dialysis techniques at Can Gio District Medical Center.
In addition to ensuring the implementation and operation of the artificial kidney system in accordance with regulations, the Department of Health continues to work with the City Social Insurance to ensure that patients enjoy health insurance payment regimes, helping patients feel secure during treatment.
It is known that currently, 16 out of 41 patients with chronic kidney failure residing in Can Gio district, Can Giuoc district (Long An), and neighboring areas of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province have registered for dialysis at Can Gio district medical center.
According to the Department of Health, Ho Chi Minh City currently has 4 districts that only have medical centers and no hospitals, including Districts 3, 5, 10 and Can Gio District. However, according to the development plan of the Health Sector, 1 of these 4 localities needs to soon re-establish a hospital type.
Therefore, with the very special characteristics of being far from the city center, and the absence of city hospitals around the District Medical Center like in Districts 3, 5 and 10, it is extremely necessary to initiate the roadmap to re-establish Can Gio Hospital.
