Dau Tieng Lake releases water to push back salinity on Saigon River

Based on the request letter of Tan Hiep Water Plant (a unit under Saigon Water Corporation) on the discharge of water to push back the salinity on the Saigon River; based on the 2025 tide table, the 5-day tidal forecast bulletin and the salinity intrusion situation on the Saigon River, Southern KTTL One Member Co., Ltd. decided to increase the discharge of water through the spillway to push back the salinity for the second time in 2025. Specifically, the discharge time is from 7:00 a.m. on April 12, 2025 to 7:00 a.m. on April 15, 2025; discharge flow is 60 ^m3 /s; total discharge volume is 15.55 million cubic meters.

In addition to the above time, Southern KTTL Company Limited will continue to discharge to maintain the flow after the dam according to the inter-reservoir operation process. At the same time, depending on the tide and salinity on the Saigon River, the Company will adjust the flow and discharge time accordingly and will notify later.

The company announced the release of water through the spillway as above so that Tan Hiep Water Plant, localities, and people living along the Saigon River know and take the initiative in production planning.

Previously, Southern KTTL One Member Co., Ltd. discharged water through Dau Tieng reservoir spillway to push back salinity on Saigon River in the first phase, from 2:00 p.m. on April 3, 2025 to 2:00 p.m. on April 4, 2025, with a discharge flow of 60 ^m3 /s, and a total discharge volume of 15.18 million cubic meters.
