On the occasion of the 113th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2024), the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in collaboration with the Truth National Political Publishing House published the book "Ho Chi Minh and the journey to realize the aspiration for independence, freedom, and happiness".
President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, Outstanding Cultural Man - He devoted his entire life and career to the Vietnamese people, was the noble embodiment of the intense desire for national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, the happiness and prosperity of the people and the progress of humanity.

With the aspiration to save the country, liberate the nation, liberate the people, in 1911, the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh left Nha Rong Wharf, determined to find a way to save the country. On the journey of traveling through many countries and continents, doing many jobs to earn a living, immersing himself in the lives of the working people of the world and participating in activities and struggles, he came to Marxism - Leninism and chose the right path to save the country along the path of proletarian revolution.
Through concrete actions, he spread Marxism-Leninism to Vietnam, into the workers' movement and the patriotic struggle movement; trained a contingent of core cadres; founded the Communist Party of Vietnam; encouraged, motivated and gathered the masses in the forms of the national united front, in political organizations, and associations in accordance with the requirements of each revolutionary stage to promote the solidarity of the entire nation in order to "use our own strength to liberate ourselves". The great victories of the August Revolution in 1945 and the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists are convincing and eloquent evidence of the wise and talented leadership of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, on the journey of struggle to realize his aspiration for "Independence - Freedom - Happiness".
In the Ho Chi Minh era, “Independence - Freedom - Happiness” was not only an aspiration but also a priceless system of values, becoming a way of life and a revolutionary ideal that President Ho Chi Minh, our Party and the people steadfastly pursued. That ideal became the driving force for our people to wholeheartedly follow the Party.
The great and historic achievements of the country's renovation over the past 40 years continue to affirm that the renovation policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought is correct, creative, and suitable to Vietnam's reality and the development trend of the times for the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization".
In order to systematize Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, analyze and clarify President Ho Chi Minh's aspirations for national independence and socialism; his great activities and contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause on the journey to realize this aspiration, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in collaboration with the Truth National Political Publishing House published the book "Ho Chi Minh and the journey to realize the aspiration for independence, freedom and happiness".
This is a work that has been carefully and seriously researched. In addition to the Preface and Conclusion, the book consists of 3 parts with 15 chapters. Part I: Ho Chi Minh - Aspiration for national independence and national unification. Part II: Ho Chi Minh - Aspiration for freedom and happiness for the Vietnamese people. Part III: Successfully realizing the aspiration for a rich, democratic, prosperous, civilized and happy Vietnam according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology.
With the methodology of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, the specialized research method of Ho Chi Minh studies and the interdisciplinary research method of social sciences and humanities, the book deeply analyzes and clarifies Ho Chi Minh's aspiration for independence - freedom - happiness and his journey to gradually realize that aspiration in the practice of the Vietnamese revolution. That is also the journey of our nation to increasingly greater victories on the path of national independence associated with socialism. This is a work that has been carefully and seriously researched, affirming the strong vitality and immense value of Ho Chi Minh's thought for the Vietnamese revolution. He is forever a symbol of the quintessence, spirit and soul of the Vietnamese people, of the aspiration for liberation and development of the Vietnamese people, an outstanding symbol of the aspirations for peace and progress of humanity.
The book is also a valuable reference for cadres, party members and people who want to learn and research more deeply about the stature and great value of Ho Chi Minh's legacy.
