Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said that this is an activity connecting universities, clubs, associations, and groups to join hands to preserve, protect, and create conditions for the development of coral reefs and marine ecosystems in Son Tra Peninsula.

At the same time, through propaganda activities to raise awareness of the community and tourists about environmental protection and marine ecosystems when visiting Son Tra peninsula, build and promote the image of green tourism in Son Tra peninsula with the message "Son Tra Peninsula - Green destination".

“Clean up Son Tra” is a regular activity to collect garbage and clean up the natural environment on land and underwater, organized by the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, in coordination with units, clubs, teams and groups in the city.

"The goal of the program is to strengthen propaganda to raise awareness of the community and tourists about protecting the marine environment and preserving the natural ecosystem when visiting Son Tra peninsula. Through the program, the Management Board hopes to contribute to promoting to tourists about not using plastic waste when visiting, protecting the environment of Son Tra peninsula, the marine environment as well as protecting coral reef areas on Son Tra peninsula", said Mr. Phan Minh Hai.

Clean up trash in the Green Lake area.

The activity "Clean up Son Tra - Diving to pick up trash, rescue corals and clean up the environment in Son Tra peninsula" was carried out in Hon Sup area and Son Tra peninsula (from the intersection of Hoang Sa - Le Van Luong to Dong Dinh Museum). More than 200 volunteers participated in this activity.

The volunteers cleaning the coral area are students from Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, Thanh Khe Swimming Club; Da Nang Free Diving; Sup, Kayak Da Nang... The volunteers are divided into small groups to carry out exercises before going into the water; instructed on safety skills during the cleaning of the coral area and necessary notes to avoid affecting the coral reef. Each group is given tools to clean and remove ghost nets in the coral area.
