NDO - Surpassing Tokyo and Bangkok, Da Nang has become the most searched city by American tourists in January 2025.


According to accommodation search data collected on the Agoda platform, Da Nang became the most searched city by American tourists in January 2025, surpassing Tokyo and Bangkok.

Searches from American travelers to Da Nang increased dramatically by 1,538% compared to the same period in 2024, recording the most impressive growth among top destinations.

Search trends show that Da Nang entered the top 5 cities of interest to North American tourists since July last year and has maintained this position continuously since then.

Not only Da Nang, Vietnam in general is also becoming the most sought-after destination for American tourists.

According to Agoda data, Vietnam has risen to the number 1 spot on the list of most interested destinations for American travelers in 2024, up from number 4 in 2023 and surpassing Japan. The number of accommodation searches from the US to Vietnam in 2024 increased by 174% compared to the previous year.

This strong growth is also in line with the Vietnamese Government's strategy, which currently aims to welcome 1.3 million American tourists by 2028 and make the US one of the top 3 markets sending visitors to Vietnam.

Additionally, American tourists are now Vietnam's second-largest source market, behind only South Korea, according to accommodation search data on Agoda.
