Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the progress of planting early winter crops is slower than the same period last year.

According to the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Hai Duong province, as of September 26, farmers in localities in the province had only planted more than 2,100 hectares of early winter crops, 1,000 hectares less than the same period last year. Of which, 388 hectares were melons of all kinds, 248 hectares were cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, 185 hectares were corn, the rest were carrots, onions, garlic... Kim Thanh and Tu Ky districts are the two localities that have planted the largest area of ​​early winter crops up to this point (Kim Thanh 940 hectares, Tu Ky 500 hectares).

Previously, storm No. 3 caused about 2,000 hectares of vegetables to be flooded, broken, and crushed. Currently, farmers in the localities are actively overcoming difficulties, preparing the land... to speed up the progress of planting winter crops. According to the province's crop calendar, early winter crops will be planted by farmers until the end of October.

In the 2024-2025 winter crop, Hai Duong strives to plant 21,500 hectares. Of which, 18,000 hectares of vegetables of all kinds (main vegetables include 6,500 hectares of onions, garlic, 1,200 hectares of carrots, 4,500 hectares of cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower; 1,000 hectares of potatoes); 1,500 hectares of corn, the rest are other crops.
