(HNMO) - On the afternoon of June 7, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced that it will have a plan to promote the system of restaurants and food establishments that have just been awarded stars by Michelin and honored in the list of recommendations for tourists when coming to Hanoi.
As HNMO reported , on the evening of June 6, 2023, the Michelin organization announced the list of restaurants that met Michelin standards. Among the 103 restaurants selected by the Michelin Guide, Hanoi has 48 representatives, including 3 restaurants awarded "1 Michelin star"; 13 restaurants receiving the award for good food at affordable prices (Bib Gourmand); 32 restaurants on the Michelin Selected list and 1 Michelin Award for Outstanding Young Chef.
Having a representative restaurant in Hanoi awarded a Michelin star - a prestigious award in the world's culinary world is good news for the capital's tourism industry, a good opportunity to widely promote Hanoi cuisine to the world, and at the same time, a motivation for restaurants and eateries to standardize their service style, ensure food safety and hygiene, be creative in their preparation methods and create a unique space to bring many experiences to customers.
Before this event that attracted much attention, the Hanoi Department of Tourism said that according to the orientation of Hanoi city's tourism development until 2030, culinary products and services will be developed in a diverse manner, focusing on unique types such as night food streets, culinary craft villages and a system of developed restaurants to meet the needs of the people and tourists.
To exploit and develop culinary tourism products to become the strength of the Capital's tourism, in the coming time, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will promote the Michelin-starred restaurant system alongside other prestigious restaurants and eateries in Hanoi in propaganda and promotion programs for Hanoi tourism on media channels, social networking sites as well as at domestic and international tourism promotion events.
In addition, the Department of Tourism has a policy of building a "food tour map" so that tourists can explore and experience local cuisine on their own. The Department will coordinate with localities to disseminate knowledge about ensuring food hygiene and safety, communication skills, improving the quality of tourist services, especially strengthening the inspection and examination of establishments that meet tourist service standards to continue to maintain and improve the image and quality of tourism in the capital in the coming time.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that having a representative on the list of Michelin-starred restaurants will contribute to raising the level of Hanoi cuisine in particular, and Vietnamese cuisine in general, on the world culinary tourism map.
