On August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held an exam to recruit civil servants to work at public educational institutions under the Department of Education and Training, with nearly 2,000 candidates taking the exam to select 608 positions.
This is a recruitment period that is highly anticipated by the teaching community because after 4 years, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has organized this recruitment exam. Of the 608 civil servant positions recruited this year, there are 536 positions for teachers from preschool to high school and 72 positions for library staff, clerks, and laboratory equipment.

Each recruitment position has specific requirements regarding standards and professional qualifications and conditions.
There are 30 positions recruited through interviews and selection. These are excellent university graduates and candidates with excellent academic achievements according to regulations.
The remaining candidates must participate in the recruitment exam through 2 rounds: Round 1 is a test of general knowledge, information technology, foreign languages (multiple choice test on paper); Round 2 is a written test of professional and specialized subjects (knowledge, capacity, professional skills according to the requirements of the recruited job position).
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the city currently has nearly 2.3 million students and 2,845 schools at all levels. Due to the rapid growth of the mechanical population, each year Hanoi is estimated to increase by 40,000-60,000 students, corresponding to 30-35 schools. Meanwhile, Hanoi currently lacks about 10,000 teachers at all levels.
To overcome this situation, in addition to recruiting 608 new teachers and school staff through the above recruitment period, the Hanoi People's Council has passed a resolution to sign contracts with 3,112 public preschool, primary and secondary school teachers and decentralize to districts. Along with that, districts, towns and cities also organize teacher recruitment periods according to assigned quotas.
