Despite recruitment efforts, Tay Ninh still lacks nearly 900 teachers.

Tay Ninh province is currently short of nearly 900 teachers, mainly preschool and primary school teachers.

On December 7, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh province said that the area is currently lacking 872 teachers; of which preschools lack 368 teachers, primary schools lack 221 teachers, secondary schools lack 182 teachers and high schools lack 101 teachers, despite efforts to recruit.

In 2024, districts, towns, cities and the Department of Education and Training recruited 228 teachers and are still in the process of recruiting. Of which, the number of teachers lacking is mainly focused on preschool education and new subjects such as music, fine arts, etc.

Currently, the whole Tay Ninh province is lacking nearly 900 teachers.

To improve the quality as well as ensure a sufficient number of teachers for the 2024-2025 school year and the following school years, the Department of Education and Training has coordinated with localities to flexibly arrange and assign teachers to ensure sufficient quantity and consistent structure; in case it is not possible to recruit enough according to the quota, solutions for teacher contracts will be implemented.

In addition, review and rearrange classes, ensure the student-to-class ratio according to regulations, to reduce the number of classes, thereby ensuring the number of teachers working in educational institutions.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuoc, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh province, said that in the coming time, the department will develop a plan and organize the recruitment of missing teachers according to the job positions in the annual staffing quota to promptly supplement the missing subject teachers; especially foreign language and information technology teachers at primary level; music and art teachers... at high school level.

"At the same time, survey the needs for the following years, the number of local students studying at teacher training schools expected to graduate to recruit additional staff for schools or place training orders," Mr. Phuoc informed.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh province, as of November 20, 2024, the total number of managers, teachers, and staff of preschools, general schools, and continuing education schools in the area is 13,425 people.
