Joining the general flow of the 4th industrial revolution, Ha Giang identifies digital transformation as an opportunity to break through and rise up, a lever for socio-economic development, and also the fastest way to help shorten the development gap between regions.
Acting Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Manh Dung visited the Ha Giang Provincial Data Integration Center at the Department of Information and Communications.
Comrade Do Thai Hoa, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ha Giang shared: The digital transformation for Ha Giang was once likened to "sowing corn on the rocky plateau" because Ha Giang is one of the mountainous provinces with many difficulties, with a lack of infrastructure and outdated information technology equipment.
In addition, the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for nearly 90%, the poverty rate is high, and there are even a part of the population that cannot read or write, and do not have mobile phones...
However, thanks to the efforts and drastic participation of the entire political system, the consensus response of people and businesses, etc., Ha Giang's digital transformation journey has so far recorded many strong and comprehensive changes in all three pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society, gradually bringing a more convenient and better life to the people in the highlands here.
Through digital platforms, Lo Lo Chai village (Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district) is increasingly known to many tourists from near and far, becoming an indispensable destination on the journey to explore Ha Giang. Many villagers have taken advantage of opportunities and accessed technology to become "digital citizens" to promote local tourism potential.

Mr. Sinh Di Gai, Head of Lo Lo Chai Village - one of the pioneering "digital citizens" of the locality said: When we first started, the promotion of tourism services was very limited, mainly through travel companies in Ha Giang City. In recent years, thanks to investment in telecommunications infrastructure and the internet, he and many other households in the village have gradually had access to information, learned how to connect with customers, and introduced local tourism potential on digital platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, etc.

In Ha Giang province, the application of social networking platforms to promote attractive destinations and quality tourism products and services is no longer strange and many highland people share their experiences and skills in using them. Ha Giang is considered one of the provinces that has promoted the promotion of local images in the digital environment very early, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of the tourism industry - which is considered the "pillar" of the local economy.
To promote effective communication in the digital environment, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province has proactively signed a cooperation agreement with Viettel Military Telecommunications Group and VNPT Post and Telecommunications Group to enhance the development of telecommunications infrastructure and information technology, creating conditions to promote the application of digital transformation on 3 pillars, in which the field of communication is the top priority.
Along with promoting communication in the digital environment, Ha Giang also promotes digital transformation in the tourism sector, thereby contributing significantly to the impressive growth of the smokeless industry in recent years.
Ha Giang actively applies digital transformation in promoting and advertising local tourism potential.
If in 2022, right after the COVID-19 pandemic was controlled, Ha Giang welcomed over 2.2 million visitors, by 2023, this number had reached more than 3 million, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2022. Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, Digital Transformation and Project 06 of Ha Giang province affirmed: The consistent viewpoint of the Government, as well as Ha Giang province, is to take people and businesses as the center, subject, goal and driving force of digital transformation. Only then will digital transformation be universal and comprehensive, bringing practical benefits to the people.
Seizing the opportunity, in the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, Ha Giang is one of the first localities in the country to issue a specialized Resolution (Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU) on digital transformation for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. This is considered a guideline for the province's digital transformation, an orientation for the entire political system to join hands to carry out digital transformation on all three pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society, focusing on building digital government to create momentum and orient, lead, manage and support the development of digital economy and digital society.

This is considered a direct bridge between the government at all levels and the people, through which people can online reflect on problems and concerns with the authorities and monitor the handling results to evaluate the effectiveness of the government’s operations at all levels. To date, the application has had over 18,157 downloads and 15,624 registered accounts.
