As a mountainous border province located in the northernmost part of the country, Ha Giang not only stands out for its majestic natural scenery but also possesses rich agricultural potential, especially its typical agricultural products of high value.

With the goal of developing agriculture associated with tourism, Ha Giang is gradually transforming itself, turning these agricultural products into highlights to attract tourists, while increasing economic value for the people.

Combining the development of typical agricultural products with tourism not only helps increase farmers' income but also contributes to building Ha Giang's tourism brand.

Ha Giang has special natural conditions with 3 main ecological regions: Northern rocky highlands, Western dirt highlands and Southern lowlands.

Each region has its own unique climate and soil characteristics, creating unique agricultural products such as seedless persimmons, plums, pears, oranges, Shan Tuyet tea, mint honey, yellow cowpeas and rare medicinal herbs.

These products have been certified with trademarks and geographical indications, creating a solid foundation for the development of agricultural value chains associated with tourism.

On the other hand, Ha Giang also owns famous landscapes such as Dong Van Stone Plateau, Hoang Su Phi terraced fields, or ancient Shan Tuyet tea growing areas, buckwheat flowers... becoming attractive destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

These factors create great opportunities for developing sustainable agricultural tourism, not only beautifying the landscape but also enhancing the value of the province's typical agricultural products.

When mentioning Ha Giang, we cannot help but mention the unique agricultural products that have become the trademarks of this land. Seedless persimmons in Quan Ba district, blood plums in Hoang Su Phi, pears in Dong Van, or Shan Tuyet tea in Hoang Su Phi, Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang, Quang Binh districts... all have unique characteristics that cannot be found anywhere else.

In particular, the Quan Ba seedless persimmon tree has been certified for geographical indication, and the Hoang Su Phi blood plum product has been granted a trademark registration certificate by the Intellectual Property Office, creating great added value for these products.

In addition, buckwheat, a typical flower of Dong Van Stone Plateau, has become a symbol of Ha Giang. With buckwheat flower fields blooming in the fall, it attracts millions of tourists to visit.

Many products made from buckwheat such as cakes, wine, beer, etc. are also becoming popular souvenirs for many tourists.

One of the unique agricultural products of Ha Giang is the high-quality specialty rice associated with terraced fields. Specialty rice varieties such as Gia Dui rice, Quang Nguyen sticky rice and red rice are grown here; of which, Gia Dui Xin Man rice has been granted a geographical indication certificate.

This is a production area with a very beautiful terraced field system, recognized as a national scenic spot with an area of 675 hectares, creating great opportunities for tourists to visit and experience.

Combining the production of typical agricultural products and tourism development is a sustainable direction for Ha Giang. Agricultural products are not simply goods but also factors that help highlight the cultural and unique features of each locality.

Tourists come to Ha Giang not only to visit famous landscapes, but also to experience agricultural production activities.

Although Ha Giang has achieved certain results in combining agricultural development with tourism, there are still some challenges that need to be addressed.

One of the biggest difficulties is the steep terrain, which makes it difficult to develop large, concentrated agricultural production areas. To solve this problem, it is necessary to invest in deep processing industry, improve product quality, and ensure traceability.

At the same time, it is necessary to promote digital transformation in agriculture, helping to connect agricultural products with large consumer markets, thereby increasing the value of typical products.

Besides, the development of agricultural tourism needs to go hand in hand with the protection of landscapes, ecosystems and the preservation of traditional cultural values of ethnic people.

There is a need for solutions to protect and develop ancient Shan Tuyet tea areas, terraced fields and buckwheat growing areas to ensure sustainable development in the future.

Mr. Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Ha Giang province, said that developing typical agriculture associated with tourism is a very correct direction for Ha Giang.

Ha Giang not only has potential for agricultural products but also has many magnificent natural landscapes. This combination helps Ha Giang not only develop agriculture but also enhance the value of tourism, bringing benefits to both farmers and the community.

However, the province also needs to focus on sustainable development, protecting nature and resources so that tourism and agriculture can develop harmoniously.

Developing typical agricultural products associated with tourism development not only helps Ha Giang increase product value but also creates new opportunities for people, promoting local economic development.

From preserving and promoting traditional agricultural values to building unique tourism products, Ha Giang is demonstrating great potential in combining agriculture and tourism, towards a sustainable future./.
