In recent years, the province's telecommunications infrastructure has been continuously invested in and developed with modern technology, wide coverage, high speed, and synchronization with the province's infrastructure and technology. In particular, at tourist attractions, the improvement and enhancement of the quality of telecommunications infrastructure networks have been focused on, meeting the communication and internet needs of residents and visitors.
According to the Department of Science and Technology, there are currently 6 telecommunications and information technology enterprises operating in the province. In recent years, enterprises have deployed telecommunications infrastructure development according to the telecommunications infrastructure planning of the province and enterprises approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Up to now, the whole province has developed over 900 mobile base transceiver stations (BTS); 100% of communes, wards and towns have fiber optic internet lines to villages and residential groups; over 95% of the population is covered by 3G, 4G mobile information. The number of internet users accessing the internet via mobile devices (smartphones) in the whole province accounts for about 80% of the population.
Currently, a number of large telecommunications enterprises are deploying 5G network coverage in the center of Phu Ly city and Ly Nhan district, aiming to expand to the entire province, first prioritizing industrial parks, tourist attractions in the area. Supermarkets, bus stations, tourist attractions have been provided with free wifi to facilitate people and tourists to provide information about their destinations on social networks, contributing to promoting tourism in the province. With improved network quality, tourists can easily update, find information and images about Ha Nam tourism on the website dulichhanam.vn, on the tourism information portal and smart tourism application of Ha Nam province at http://visithanam.vn...
Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and functional agencies, every year, telecommunications enterprises review and install additional BTS stations at tourist attractions such as Tam Chuc Tourist Area, Ba Danh Pagoda (Kim Bang); Tran Thuong Temple (Ly Nhan); Long Doi Son Pagoda, Lanh Giang Temple (Duy Tien); Bien Hoa Walking Street (Phu Ly City); Cay Thi Pagoda, Dia Tang Phi Lai Pagoda (Thanh Liem)... At most of these locations, telecommunications enterprises have deployed underground cable networks, providing fiber optic internet to all tourist areas; installing free wifi in crowded areas, contributing to limiting local network congestion. In particular, during the tourist season, festivals, holidays, and Tet in the year, tourist attractions are also enhanced with mobile BTS stations by telecommunications enterprises to ensure service quality when the number of tourists is large and the number of mobile subscribers increases.
Mr. Vu Tien Tiep, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, affirmed: Ha Nam's tourism is developing strongly. To promote the sustainable development of this smokeless industry, the province has been strongly applying telecommunications technology to the tourism industry to enhance the experience for tourists. Every year, the department directs telecommunications enterprises to improve the quality of infrastructure, internet access quality and smooth communication for tourists at tourist destinations. Thanks to that, the province's tourist areas all meet the standards of high-speed internet connection.
Up to now, the whole province has developed over 900 mobile base transceiver stations (BTS); 100% of communes, wards and towns have fiber optic internet lines reaching villages and residential groups; over 95% of the population is covered by 3G and 4G mobile information. The number of internet users accessing the internet via mobile devices (smartphones) in the whole province accounts for about 80% of the population.
For example, Viettel Ha Nam, in order to improve the quality of services at tourist attractions, in the past time, this unit has synchronously deployed many solutions, focusing on regularly installing additional fixed and mobile BTS stations during festivals, holidays, Tet and weekends. According to statistics, Viettel Ha Nam has currently built 74 fixed BTS stations and is maintaining the installation of 12 more mobile BTS stations at famous tourist attractions in the province such as Tam Chuc Tourist Area, Sun Urban City Ha Nam Festival Park, Sun World Ha Nam Theme Park... (an increase of more than 30 stations compared to 2023). Particularly at Tam Chuc Tourist Area, Viettel Ha Nam has 42 fixed BTS stations and 2 mobile BTS stations to serve tourists (an increase of more than 20 stations compared to 2023).
Mr. Kieu Dat Hung, General Manager, Viettel Ha Nam said: Currently, Viettel Ha Nam has nearly 400 public telecommunications service points, serving well the needs of searching for information in general, and tourism information in particular, of people and tourists. In the province's tourist areas, Viettel's BTS stations always meet the requirements of quantity and quality. In addition to installing BTS stations to ensure density, Viettel Ha Nam also increases mobile broadcasting vehicles in the festival area. At this time, Viettel Ha Nam has also planned to add 2-3 new mobile BTS stations in the Sun Urban City Ha Nam festival park area to serve the fireworks display event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification (April 30) and Ha Nam tourism promotion activities in the coming time.
Currently, the province has more than 20 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots with digitized information and QR codes. Therefore, ensuring the quality of mobile networks in these areas is necessary to facilitate tourists to find information. According to Mr. Cao Duc Dong, Director of VNPT Ha Nam, at each tourist destination in the province, VNPT Ha Nam has installed 3-5 fixed BTS stations to meet the high traffic demand of tourists. On the main festival days, VNPT Ha Nam arranges staff to be on duty 24/7 at tourist attractions to proactively monitor traffic developments, thereby developing timely regulation plans, supplementing channels and equipment, and avoiding network congestion and loss of communication signals. Along with that, VNPT Ha Nam also focuses on improving the features of transceivers to optimize call quality and stabilize internet speed.
It can be affirmed that one of the important factors helping Ha Nam province promote tourism development is the upgrading and expansion of telecommunications infrastructure. In 2025, Ha Nam will deploy 5G network projects in 100% of districts, towns and cities, focusing on historical and cultural relics, scenic spots and tourism. 5G network infrastructure helps provide fast and stable internet speed, facilitating online tourism services, electronic payments and other digital experiences for people and tourists.
