Greenwood must improve his situation at Marseille. |
Despite being Marseille's top scorer this season with 15 goals in Ligue 1, Greenwood has surprisingly not been in the starting lineup in recent weeks. Coach De Zerbi expressed disappointment with the former MU star's attitude and efforts on the training ground.
In the big match against PSG on March 17, De Zerbi put Greenwood on the bench and explained that this striker was "not physically fit". As a result, Marseille suffered a 1-3 away defeat.
However, Greenwood has made concrete moves to revive the situation at Marseille. Instead of accepting being removed from the first team, the former MU star responded strongly.
During the international break, Marseille allowed uncapped players four days off before returning to training. However, Greenwood returned to the centre two days earlier than scheduled. The former Manchester United star showed his determination to train hard before his teammates returned from international duty.
According to RMC Sport , Greenwood's move has been appreciated by Marseille's coaching staff. However, the 23-year-old striker needs to maintain this to prove his commitment to the club.
Marseille will return to action against Reims on March 29. Greenwood is expected to be in the starting line-up as he remains the club's top scorer.
