Suggested series of fun events during Tet in Hanoi

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the city has more than 30 events and festivals to attract tourists during the Lunar New Year. The activities are organized in the spirit of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, taking place at popular tourist destinations.

Events taking place before and during Tet : Tet Street 2024 at Phung Hung Mural Street, Spring Calligraphy Festival and Calligraphy Exhibition at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam; art performances in wards in Hanoi's Old Quarter such as Hang Bac, Hang Dao, Hang Buom and Phuc Kien Assembly Hall; Go Dong Da Festival.

One of the highlights of this year's Tet is the New Year's Eve in the West Lake area (Nguyen Dinh Thi - Trich Sai street) where the "Brilliant Thang Long" art light festival and the New Year's Eve cultural and artistic program take place at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center.

Activities throughout Tet : Traditional Tet space decoration, traditional procession, offering ceremony at the communal house gate, Cao Nieu Hoang Thanh ceremony, worshiping the profession's ancestors at Kim Ngan communal house; arranging and organizing the introduction of the living space, celebrating Tet of an old Hanoi family at the Heritage House, displaying Bat Trang products with the theme of Dragon Pottery, Vietnamese calligraphy performance at the Cultural and Artistic Center. Events take place from January 28 to February 28.

Festivals after Tet : Huong Pagoda Festival, Giong Festival at Soc Temple, Co Loa Festival, Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival, Tan Vien Son Thanh Festival, Va Temple Festival, Hanoi Tourism Program to Welcome 2024 and announcement of the Decision to recognize Nhat Tan tourist area, Hanoi Tourism Festival.

Hotels in the city also have many activities to attract and welcome guests to stay during Tet such as promotions, discounts, and some complimentary services when staying.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that during Tet, inspection and supervision will be strengthened at tourist attractions and accommodation establishments. "We expect Hanoi's tourism industry to best meet the needs of sightseeing, entertainment, and relaxation of people and tourists during Tet," said Ms. Giang.
