Spring rice planting achieved 98% of plan

In recent days, localities in the province have focused human resources and means to speed up the progress of spring rice planting.

According to the synthesis of the Department of Cultivation, Plant Protection and Forestry (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), as of February 26, the land preparation (double harrowing and transplanting) of the whole province has reached 100.6% of the area. The total rice area planted is 25,622 hectares, reaching 98% of the plan. Of which, the rice area planted by machine is 6,244.6 hectares, hand-planted is 9,570.4 hectares, and direct sowing is 9,807 hectares. The percentage of spring rice area planted in localities: Thanh Liem district has planted 100.2% of the area, Ly Nhan has 99% of the area; Binh Luc has 97.2% of the area; Kim Bang town has 95.6% of the area, Duy Tien has 97.8% of the area; Phu Ly city has 96% of the area.

Thus, the province's 2025 spring rice planting progress is guaranteed, basically completed in February, on schedule. Currently, localities are continuing to regulate irrigation water for rice; shifting focus to caring for and fertilizing the first batch of rice in areas that were planted early; preparing seedlings well to cope with unfavorable weather developments. At the same time, monitoring the development of pests and diseases on newly planted rice to have timely prevention and control measures.
