World oil prices today
World oil prices increased across the board in today's trading session, September 5 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at $69.56/barrel, up $0.36/barrel, or 0.52%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $69.20/barrel and opened today's session at $69.19/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $73.02 a barrel, up $0.32 a barrel, or 0.44 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $72.70 a barrel and opened today's session at $72.70 a barrel.
Thus, the world oil price today has rebounded after consecutive sessions of sharp decline. In just over a week, Brent oil price has decreased by 11%, equivalent to about 9 USD. In yesterday's trading session (September 4), Brent oil price reached 72.63 USD/barrel at one point, finally closing yesterday's session at 72.70 USD/barrel.
OPEC+ is currently discussing postponing plans to increase oil production from October because Libya's production is expected to be restored soon.
Global oil demand is weak, Reuters reported. China's manufacturing activity fell to a six-month low in August amid slowing growth in new home prices. Similarly, data from the Institute for Supply Management showed that U.S. manufacturing activity remained sluggish.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On September 5, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 29. Accordingly, the price of diesel oil decreased the most, by 299 VND/liter, followed by RON 95-III gasoline, down 208 VND/liter. Fuel oil decreased by 194 VND/kg, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 92 VND/liter. Kerosene decreased the least, by 84 VND/liter.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, September 5, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on September 5: Oil discount of VND1,900/liter; RON 95-III gasoline: VND1,750/liter; E5 gasoline: VND1,550/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on September 5 as follows: Oil discount: 1,850 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,700 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,500 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on September 5: RON 95 - III discount: 1,600 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,400 VND/liter; oil: 1,900 VND/liter at Mipec warehouse
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, petroleum prices will likely continue to decrease, by about 300-400 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 18 times.
