Recommendations for farmers and businesses
Farmers are advised to take advantage of high price periods to sell pigs to maximize profits. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the pigs meet food hygiene standards and stay healthy to meet the increasing consumption demand.
For processing and exporting enterprises, it is necessary to actively stock up on goods to meet the sharp increase in demand during the Lunar New Year. At the same time, boost exports to important markets such as China, South Korea and Japan.
Tay Ninh Province, which shares a nearly 240-km border with Cambodia, is strengthening its veterinary capacity to prevent border-based epidemics, according to VNA. Many solutions have been implemented, such as increasing human resources and equipment under the Project to Strengthen Veterinary Management Capacity.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Loan, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Tay Ninh province, said that the province has focused on monitoring the disease situation, especially African swine fever in neighboring areas.
To ensure biosecurity, the provincial veterinary sector recommends that people apply safe livestock farming measures, regularly disinfect barns, and limit entry and exit to livestock facilities.
In order to ensure a safe supply of pigs during Tet, Tay Ninh province also strictly controls the import and export of pigs in the region.
According to Ms. Loan, pigs imported from other provinces into Tay Ninh must have a quarantine certificate and the quantity must be declared within 24 hours. For pigs imported into the province, there must be a warehouse release form, a weight certificate and a similar declaration. Pigs exported from the province will be quarantined at the source according to regulations.
