"To be honest, I couldn't believe I scored in that situation. I didn't even know how I kicked it. I only heard the reaction from the fans to know that I had scored one of the best goals of my career. I'm very happy," Alejandro Garnacho said after Man Utd's win over Everton in round 13 of the Premier League.
The Argentine scored his first Premier League goal of the 2023/24 season in the most impressive way. The young star's masterpiece was reminiscent of Wayne Rooney's goal against Man City in 2011 or the moment Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 2018 Champions League final.

At 19 years and 148 days, Garnacho became the youngest Man United player to score against Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League. The previous record belonged to Wayne Rooney (19 years and 293 days).
Also in the post-match interview at Goodison Park, captain Bruno Fernandes also praised his junior: "I like goals that silence the whole stadium. I'm proud of Garnacho."
The Premier League organizers asked Bruno Fernandes to personally present the Man of the Match award to Garnacho. The Portuguese midfielder put his arm around Garnacho and joked: "I don't think this kid deserves it but if you want it, then fine."
3 points against Everton helped Man United reclaim 6th place from Newcastle. Coach Erik ten Hag and his team gradually regained confidence with their 3rd consecutive victory in the Premier League.
The Red Devils face an important Champions League group stage match against Galatasaray in midweek. Man Utd must win away from home if they don't want to say goodbye to Europe's most prestigious cup competition.
