Viettel AI Day includes in-depth discussions and exhibitions displaying outstanding AI products, providing sharing, experiences and practical examples of effective AI deployment globally. At the discussion session with the theme: "AI and the world's perspective", speakers shared about technology trends and use cases commonly applied in the world, including the AI field that is of great interest today - Generative AI.
As Viettel's strategic AI partner, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Director of NVIDIA Vietnam had an impressive presentation about high-performance computing infrastructure and software platforms for Generative AI. Emphasizing why businesses need GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and HPC (High Performance Computer), he said that these are two important components that determine computing power, considered the core strength of countries and large corporations in the technology field.
GPUs are showing superior processing speed compared to the widely used CPU (Central Processing Unit), processing both data and images faster. For the same calculation, the CPU takes 2.1 hours to process, but the 4 GPU system only takes more than 10 seconds. In particular, Mr. Cuong also directly introduced to the conference one of NVIDIA's latest GPUs: H100, a product that is selling out worldwide. He said that the H100 GPU will completely change the structure of data centers in Vietnam.
NVIDIA's GPU platform not only supports HPC but also accelerates computing power for AI. NVIDIA's ecosystem has more than 1,600 Generative AI developers collaborating. Currently, NVIDIA is developing tools to support the construction of Large Language Models and has cooperated with Viettel to transfer data security technologies. At the end of the presentation, Mr. Cuong attracted the whole hall with a film about how AI is changing the robot market worldwide.
Also in the workshop, Mr. Le Van Thanh - Solution Architect, Google shared about how Generative AI promotes business development. Introducing Vertex AI - Google's machine learning management platform, Mr. Thanh said that this platform can create online interactions, analyze data, answer questions in a short time..., allowing businesses to instantly grasp the moment the "touch" point between the business and the customer appears.
Giving a visual example through a video, Mr. Thanh delighted the audience with the lightning-fast generation ability of Generative AI. “Make a cup of coffee and you can create a chatbot while waiting,” Mr. Thanh described when introducing the steps to create a basic Chatbot with Vertex AI.
Google's research results show that the most used use cases of Generative AI are virtual assistants and data and text search. This coincides with Viettel's development orientation of Virtual Assistants to support professional search. "I am happy to know that Viettel has also applied this use case to work," said Mr. Thanh.
Based on his experience implementing for many customers, Mr. Thanh shared a handbook for Google business leaders, which details 10 steps to deploy any AI use case in 30 days, starting from specifically identifying the business's problem to be solved and establishing a team in charge of implementation.
Mr. Thanh noted that for a use case to be successful, the implementation team cannot only have members with expertise in technology but must include all three areas: business, technology and operations, to grasp an overview of all aspects of the business. Next, determine the goals the business wants to achieve through the application use case. If it is to increase revenue, it is necessary to specifically increase in which customer groups... Only when these steps are completed, will the business have the basic information to delve into the development process, personalizing the technology to suit the actual needs of the business.
Viettel AI Day is an event organized by Viettel with the aim of providing a multi-dimensional perspective on the global Artificial Intelligence (AI) development trend, along with in-depth sharing of effective AI application experiences in the world from many fields.
