On May 24, the People's Committee of Hai Chau District (Da Nang City) announced that the People's Committee of Da Nang City has agreed and assigned the People's Committee of Hai Chau District to implement a pilot plan to organize Bach Dang walking street with operating hours from 3-12 p.m. every day of the week.
According to the pilot plan of Bach Dang walking street, the walking street space is located on the extended Bach Dang street - the section from Dragon bridge area to Tran Thi Ly bridge with a length of 1.2 km, connecting with Nguyen Van Troi bridge.
It is expected that Bach Dang walking street will have 3 clusters of mobile kiosks with 12 kiosks on the entire sidewalk on the east side of Bach Dang street. The kiosks will use 20-foot containers (6m long, 2.5m wide) and will be invested and decorated by the business households themselves. At the same time, there will be 5 clusters of mobile sales vehicles with 15 vehicles on the east lane of Bach Dang street, the vehicle positions will be interspersed with the kiosks.
In addition, Bach Dang walking street will have 5 check-in points with unique models; additional trees, stone benches and decorative lights will be arranged... Along with that, there are 3 parking lots, 2 toilets around the walking street for the convenience of people and tourists to visit and experience the activities. In addition, there are music and art performances; festivals, events, street art activities...
The completion of Bach Dang walking street will create new tourism products and services, nighttime entertainment spots, diversify services and utilities to attract tourists and serve the community, develop the night-time economy based on the existing advantages of location, landscape of Bach Dang street, Dragon bridge, Nguyen Van Troi bridge and connect to exploit tourism services in neighboring areas.
These days, construction units are rushing to complete the items to soon complete and put this walking street along the Han River into operation, expected in early June 2024.

The work of marking parking lines for vending vehicles, signs, traffic signs... has been completed.
According to the traffic organization plan when the walking street is in operation, Da Nang City will use 1 lane on the east side of Bach Dang Street on weekdays, the remaining 3 lanes will be one-way, with signs placing a speed limit of 40km/h per hour and restricting motor vehicles by hour. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the City will ban vehicles on the entire Bach Dang Street, from Binh Minh 10 Street to APEC Park.
The authorities have also developed regulations for management, organization and operation of Bach Dang walking street. These include strictly prohibiting street vending, shoe shining, following tourists to force them to buy, force them to sell, begging, or asking for money in any form.
Bach Dang walking street connects the pilot plan to organize services and serve night tourism on Nguyen Van Troi bridge and the East Bank Park at the foot of Nguyen Van Troi bridge, which is a highlight, creating new and attractive tourism products, enhancing the experience of tourists at night when coming to Da Nang city.
