Statistics from the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Tuyen Quang province show that nearly 30 billion VND has been donated by agencies, unions, businesses, organizations and individuals.
On January 16, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Tuyen Quang province held a launching ceremony to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee emphasized that this is an important political task of the province, requiring the determined and drastic participation of all levels, sectors, agencies and units from the province to the grassroots; promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations, and people to care for compatriots and the disadvantaged, promoting the tradition of "the strong helping the weak" of the nation.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested functional departments and authorities from the province to the grassroots level to focus on implementing the province's target of eliminating more than 6,000 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households by the end of 2025. Departments, branches and sectors need to promote the spirit of self-awareness, the role of leaders, and clearly define responsibilities to effectively organize and implement this important social security program.
According to the Steering Committee's statistical report, in the 2021-2024 period, the province has supported the elimination of over 7,000 temporary and dilapidated houses. In 2025, Tuyen Quang province strives to eliminate 6,928 temporary and dilapidated houses; of which 4,525 households will build new houses and 2,403 households will renovate their houses; the estimated support cost is over 343 billion VND.
Up to now, Tuyen Quang province has established the Provincial, District and Commune Steering Committees to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province and developed the Steering Committee's operating regulations; Plan to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
Talking to reporters of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "Every family is prosperous and happy is the goal in the province's comprehensive socio-economic development strategy. Tuyen Quang always identifies hunger eradication and poverty reduction as a strategic, long-term, and regular task; is one of the important criteria to evaluate the implementation of social security policies; step by step support the poor and people in difficult circumstances, create sustainable livelihoods to help all poor people have the motivation to strive to have a prosperous and happy life".
In order to strive to complete more than 6,000 houses in 2025, Tuyen Quang province is continuing to promote the Party and State's major policies and guidelines on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. "Everyone contributes what they have, everyone contributes their work, everyone contributes their property, everyone contributes a lot, everyone contributes a little" to complete the support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for families of people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, and near-poor households in Tuyen Quang province before September 2, 2025.
On the morning of January 16, after the Launching Ceremony, the Steering Committee counted nearly 30 billion VND contributed by agencies, unions, businesses, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists in the province.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Vuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang Province, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee said: "Although the province still has many difficulties, the nearly 30 billion VND donated in the Launching Ceremony has demonstrated a very high spirit of solidarity of the entire political system, people, businesses,... The Steering Committee is committed to using the fund transparently, for the right purpose, and for the right subjects; ensuring that 100% of poor households in the province will no longer have temporary, dilapidated houses by 2025".
