On December 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the conference to announce the development plan of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Ca Mau province for its efforts to complete the provincial planning, connecting it with regional and national planning. At the same time, he reminded that once the planning has been announced, it must be well implemented, closely monitored and inspected, and adjusted promptly and effectively, without waiting or relying on others.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the opening of the expressway from North to South extending all the way to Ca Mau Cape.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Ca Mau has many advantages that no other province has, but there are still many shortcomings such as: incomplete traffic infrastructure, lack of high-quality labor. "Ca Mau lacks traffic like the provinces in the Mekong Delta. The expressway must be built to Dat Mui, absolutely. The inland waterway port and airport must have a runway as soon as possible so that Boeing planes can land; The seaport must be built step by step, helping Ca Mau province develop", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed.
The Prime Minister said that in implementing the planning, we must arrange what to do first and what to do later. Building airports and highways must be done quickly, we must focus on investing in transport infrastructure, and have clear policies and mechanisms to attract investment. We must promote administrative procedure reform, the attitude of public agencies and staff must be clean and healthy, all for the service of the people.
Resolutely overcome difficulties

Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai informed that the province has proposed very specific and drastic solutions to overcome difficulties.
Ca Mau is the only province in the region that does not have additional freshwater sources from the Mekong River. "These are bottlenecks that have affected Ca Mau's socio-economic development in recent times. These difficulties have been identified by the province and in the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, very specific and drastic solutions have been proposed to overcome them," Mr. Hai shared.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated enterprises that were granted investment policies, investment registration certificates, and project access, research, and survey policies by localities.
On this occasion, Ca Mau province granted investment registration certificates and investment policies to domestic and foreign enterprises investing in the province.
At the end of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of central ministries and agencies and leaders of Ca Mau province surveyed the end point of the Can Tho - Ca Mau highway; the Ca Mau airport runway expansion project and visited the Ca Mau gas - power - fertilizer zone.
The planning of Ca Mau province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, was approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in Decision No. 1386/QD-TTg dated November 17, 2023.
According to the plan, by 2030, Ca Mau will become a fairly developed province in the Mekong Delta; have a synchronous and gradually modern infrastructure system; have human resources to meet development needs; the ecosystem is preserved and effectively adapts to climate change. National defense, security, order and social safety are ensured, and people have a prosperous and happy life.
The province strives for an average economic growth rate (GRDP) of over 7.5% per year in the 2021 - 2030 period. The scale of GRDP in 2030 is 2 - 2.5 times higher than in 2020. The proportion of the fishery, agriculture and forestry sector accounts for about 23%; industry - construction accounts for about 36.5%; services account for about 37%; product taxes minus product subsidies account for about 3.5%.
Vision to 2050, Ca Mau is a province with developed economy, civilized and modern society, adapting to climate change; cultural values bearing the identity of Ca Mau people are preserved and promoted. Ecological environment, biodiversity are protected and preserved. Economic - social infrastructure, digital infrastructure are developed synchronously and modernly. Politics, national defense, security are maintained, social order and safety are ensured.
