Within the framework of the multicultural event Summer Festival (Sommerfest) held on July 22 in the city center of Augsburg, Bavaria, Southern Germany, Huong Viet Magazine (an online newspaper of Vietnamese people in Germany) and the local Vietnamese community had many activities to bring the culture, image of the country and people of Vietnam closer to German and international friends.

According to VNA correspondent in Germany, nearly 40 booths from many different countries participated in the annual event held at the Town Hall Square of Augsburg. A central performance stage was also set up to showcase special art performances from countries selected by the city, of which Vietnam was the only Asian country invited to perform this year. With traditional art performances such as Quan Ho singing, bamboo dance, etc., Vietnam brought a vibrant and attractive atmosphere to the event, thereby contributing to more widely promoting the beauty of traditional culture to international friends. At the Vietnamese booth, in addition to displaying typical cultural products introducing the country and people of Vietnam, overseas Vietnamese also introduced to international friends dishes typical of Vietnamese culinary culture. Mayor of Augsburg, Ms. Martina Wild, when visiting the Vietnamese booth, was very impressed with the dishes, culinary culture, especially the outstanding images of the country and people of Vietnam displayed at the booth. She expressed her great joy when Vietnam accepted the invitation to attend the city's multicultural event, contributing to bringing many colors to the event. The event ended in the joy of the attendees. In particular, the cuisine and performances promoting Vietnamese culture at the festival left many good impressions in the hearts of visitors. Established in 2009, up to now, Huong Viet Magazine is still one of the Vietnamese-language information channels that always updates the community situation, important information from the homeland as well as current news in Germany. The magazine also plays a role as a bridge to the homeland; organizes and participates in many events in the region to promote Vietnamese culture, country and people, as well as affirm Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands to international friends.
