The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of education and the operation of an exhibition on the topic of Hangeul - the Korean writing system will take place on July 15.

The National Hangeul Museum of Korea under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the National Library of Vietnam, will organize various programs to convey Korean cultural values in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Vietnam is the country with the largest number of King Sejong Institutes in the world; the love and interest in Korean culture is so great that Korean was introduced as the first foreign language in Vietnam in 2021.

This exhibition is co-organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the National Hangeul Museum of Korea from July 15 to August 9, within the framework of the "Overseas Cultural Center Visit Program Cooperation Project" implemented by the International Cultural Project Board under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. This is the first exhibition in Vietnam with the theme of "Hangeul" - Korean writing.

Hangeul Experiment Project - Modern Hangeul Research Institute The National Hangeul Museum's 4th Hangeul Exhibition is held with the aim of helping people have a more intuitive view of the value of Hangeul - the Korean alphabet.

The Hangeul Experiment Project is an exhibition in which the National Hangeul Museum collaborates with artists who are active in various fields to highlight the value of Hangeul as an artistic and industrial content, thereby introducing the value of Hangeul culture globally.

Along with a video introducing the principles and philosophy of creating Hangeul, a total of 11 works including videos, fashion products, handicrafts, household goods, and graphics were produced with the theme of the change of the Korean language in modern times such as the work (Lee Hwa Young) symbolically represents Hangeul as a window to the new world in modern times and (Lyu Namgwon) captures the characteristics of modern Korean fonts published on lacquerware...

After the exhibition in Vietnam ends, the exhibition will continue to take place at the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines starting from September.

Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between the National Hangeul Museum and the National Library of Vietnam

The National Hangeul Museum will sign a memorandum of understanding with the National Library of Vietnam on July 15 at the opening ceremony. The main content of the agreement is to promote cooperation programs and mutual exchange of documents and academic publications, coordinate the organization of events, conferences, seminars, exhibitions to promote the culture of both sides (especially written culture and documentary heritage...), exchange expertise and develop professional skills (especially in the field of preservation), exchange experts to promote cooperation activities and develop professional capacity of both sides and promote cooperation projects.

"Experience the art of writing calligraphy" in Vietnam organized by the National Hangeul Museum

In addition, the Education Group of the National Hangeul Museum will hold calligraphy art experiences six times in July with the theme for Vietnamese people who want to experience Korean writing at the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the National Library of Vietnam.

"The Beauty of Hangeul Calligraphy" applies sophisticated modern calligraphy techniques in the process of converting Hangeul characters so that users can create their own Hangeul works, through which foreigners can feel the beauty of Hangeul as a visible image.

Starting with the operation of the calligraphy experience program in Vietnam this time, the National Hangeul Museum plans to expand "Hangeul Experience Everywhere" overseas, thereby popularizing Hangeul worldwide in the future.

The National Hangeul Museum will explore and promote joint projects, based on cooperation with relevant institutions overseas, take the lead in expanding the value of Hangeul and Hangeul culture, and promote the exchange of writing culture.

The Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, which co-hosts this exhibition, was established in 2006 and is the first Korean Cultural Center in Southeast Asia. As such, the Center plays a key role in promoting Korean culture in Vietnam by planning and organizing various Korean cultural events, including large-scale Korean cultural festivals.

Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam said: "Korean is designated as the first foreign language and more than 60 universities in Vietnam have established Korean language departments. This proves that the Korean wave in Vietnam is hotter than in any other country. I hope this exhibition will be a good opportunity to introduce the beauty and science of Hangeul to the Vietnamese people."
