One morning at the end of March, a working group consisting of Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Cong Minh and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van To of Traffic Police Team No. 1 were on duty regulating traffic on the north side of Phu Xuan Bridge when they received a report from local residents that a young man was planning to jump off the bridge and commit suicide.

The task force quickly approached the scene and the young man to stop the act. At this time, the young man was hanging outside the bridge railing, the task force used many methods to encourage and persuade this subject to go up the bridge railing, ensuring safety. However, the young man still showed no signs of giving up the act of jumping off the bridge.

Foreseeing a bad situation, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Cong Minh quickly hugged the young man while trying to hold him back; at the same time, he and other members of the working group and local people helped pull the young man up to the bridge railing.

Mr. Pham Huu Phuoc An, a witness to the incident, shared: "The situation at that time was very dangerous because this young man showed negative signs. Even when he was held by the police, the young man still struggled and resisted."

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Cong Minh and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van To, that is the responsibility and action that each individual should take when seeing people in trouble.

It is known that a young man named NHL (born in 1990, residing in Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province) had just been to Hue for 2 days; due to his emotional problems, he intended to jump off a bridge and commit suicide. After calming down, NHL was taken home by his family. NHL's family wrote a letter of thanks to the Traffic Police of Hue City Police and the people for their timely help and preventing L's thoughtless behavior.

Also in March, while on duty, officers from the Logistics Department of Hue City Police discovered Ms. DTTT (born in 2000, residing in Phu Ho Commune, Phu Vang District) in a traffic accident, with signs of a broken leg. Realizing the urgent situation, they quickly took Ms. T. to Huong Thuy Town Medical Center for timely emergency care.

For the People to Serve

Not only saving people in trouble, the police force also actively supported dozens of cases of people recovering their property in the first months of the year. Notably, the Quang Tho Commune Police (Quang Dien District) and Huong Phong Ward Police (Thuan Hoa District) supported a person to get back 140 million VND that was mistakenly transferred.

Or the case of a lottery agent paying the wrong prize money, An Cuu Ward Police (Thuan Hoa District) received information that Mr. Nguyen Viet Du, the owner of the lottery agent, had mistakenly transferred the prize money from 12 million VND to 90 million VND during the prize payment process. After verification, Quang Tho Commune Police and An Cuu Ward Police identified the prize recipient; at the same time, explained and persuaded the prize recipient to happily return the 78 million VND that was mistakenly paid to Mr. Du. ..

In recent times, officers and soldiers of the force have done many humane and meaningful things, leaving a beautiful image in the hearts of the people. Local police have also supported connecting and finding many properties lost by domestic and foreign tourists, such as: Phu Hoi Ward Police (Thuan Hoa District) helped tourist O'Graday Lawrence (New Zealand nationality) get back his wallet and documents that were lost and were picked up by a cyclo driver and reported; Thuan Hoa District Police (old) helped people verify the identity and return the lost wallet to tourist Amaud Hervé (French nationality).

The above concrete actions and meaningful deeds contribute to spreading the beautiful image of the People's Public Security soldiers with the spirit of "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people". At the same time, they contribute to building Hue city into a peaceful, livable, happy, secure and safe city.
