On the morning of October 9, the Book Exhibition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Publishing Association, opened at the National Library of Vietnam (31 Trang Thi, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).

Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam; Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai; representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches; departments and branches of Hanoi city and a large number of readers of the capital. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam said that the exhibition brings to the public and readers of the capital more than 500 rare documents and 2,850 valuable books and book series by domestic and foreign authors; displayed in indoor and outdoor spaces. “Through models, books, and photos that are displayed and arranged elaborately, and shown on modern digital platforms, the exhibition is an important highlight, an attractive reading culture space, contributing to creating deep and good impressions on the important holiday of the Capital; at the same time, helping readers access rich knowledge resources, serving life, work, study, and research”, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam affirmed. At the indoor exhibition space, books are introduced according to key topics: “Hanoi - A thousand years of culture and heroes”, “Hanoi - City for peace”; “Hanoi - The heart of the whole country, the national political and administrative center” and displaying a number of typical books of each period that have been adapted into cinematic works. In the outdoor area, the highlight is two exhibition models with the theme "Viet Bac - Capital of Resistance" by Thai Nguyen University Publishing House and "Hanoi - Capital for Peace" by Hanoi Publishing House. In addition, there are also exhibition booths of publishers: National Politics Truth, People's Army, People's Police, Literature, Information and Communication, Kim Dong, Youth, Tre... and some publishing units.Central and Hanoi leaders view books at the exhibition. In particular, at the exhibition, there are 205 books about the thousand-year-old capital, about the historical milestone of the Liberation of the capital such as books in the 1000-year Thang Long Bookcase of Hanoi Publishing House; literary works that have been around for years such as "Mien ngon Ha Noi" (Vu Bang), "Luy hoa" (Nguyen Huy Tuong), "Ha Noi 36 pho phuong" (Thach Lam), "Chuyen cu Ha Noi" (To Hoai)... Within the framework of the exhibition, there are also many activities that bring rich experiences to readers such as: Special art program of the people of Viet Bac ethnic groups (produced by Thai Nguyen University Publishing House); introduction of the book "History of a thousand years of culture of Thang Long - Ha Noi" (organized by Hanoi Publishing House); Seminar, introduction of the book “Summary of Digital Transformation - Strategy and Roadmap” (organized by Information and Communication Publishing House) on the occasion of National Digital Transformation Day (October 10)… The exhibition and activities will take place until October 13.Hanoimoi.vn
